I hope these are of use to some of you trying to make sense of yarns/needles as they can be quite confusing.
These are the 2 links I use for needle sizes and yarn weights (just hope they work not much of a techie me);)

    afternoon all

re: the cowl - I knitted on 6.5mm straight needles in a chunky - cast on 72 st - garter 4 rows stocking stitch until work measures 10.5 inches - garter 4 more rows cast off - sew up seam
    Im quite pleased with it

    Then started a 6" square

I still cant decide on those kits ............. there wont be any left by the time I decide hmmmmmmmmmm

Hope we are all well - its a lovely bright day today a little on the chilly side but at least bright

Bones are aching today so apart from surface damage round the house two loads of washing clean bathroom and cook some lunch not much more has been achieved - the boys are out - DS has a "laser birthday party" so I have "Miss Read - Village Diary" on the MP3 which I downloaded to listen to.

Just debating whether to nip off to Kemps ...... or shall I just go and get on with some knitting??? will let you know

    Hugs to all xxx

Well kemps has lured me in - ive just made a small order of some top up chunky from the clearance section and a couple of kits for christmas presents so not really that naughty!!!!! have missed the winnie the pooh and piglet scarves though umming and agghhing on what to do

mrs m - DS's response did make me chuckle - 1p or 2p - now if that was my DS he probably would have said that same but may have gone the other way and said £10 !!!!:D - DS is very good at bartering at car boots and always makes us laugh - he also did very well at school selling Receipe Books for school funds - i think he frightened them into buying!!! - if only we could bottle or record every funny thing they do or say xx

Now I really must go - my friend (neighbour) has just rung and had a chat she is away and whilst away has knitted a doll from a kit in just this morning!!!! - she also brought me this kit for my birthday (doll is knitted, has a dress and bloomers from fabric and little wire glasses!) and says that if i start now i will get the doll done by the end of the day .................. hmmmm I dont think so :rotfl::rotfl:
