Hello -- to one and all and lots of gentle thoughts tucked in!!!!
Well as we always say " aren't we lucky to have this special place to come and have a rant!" Jean -- you poor thing-- what a lot to sort when you could be crafting!!
Kathy -- Thanks for that link, what an amazing story! And links to wedding ideas too -- I will have a good look later.
F1 --- I really hope you get your Mojo back. I have no knowledge of those dolls- I will have a google. I have seen some lovely ideas with the letters and decoupage. I do agree with Kathy though please do not put yourself under any pressure. Christmas has a lot of pressure wrapped up in it doesn't it!
I have started another hooky project with Sunburst Granny squares. A pattern I have never tried before. I read lots but then I devised one of my own as I wanted a fairly simple effect.
If you want a look pop in to my blog where I have just written an easy tutorial. What a surprise that it is in shades of blue!
Lots of love to all MIA's and anyone with their hands overflowing!Try and do a good deed every day.0 -
Hi Chalky - just looked at your blog and seen your lovely squares; gorgeous colours! That reminds me, I really must try and update my blog - perhaps tomorrow!
As for the wedding, it was a real adventure for DH and I. Everyone else flew out to Italy but, Adrian always wanting to do something a bit different, we decided to drive there. We went from the UK to France, then drove across France into Italy. We spent four days at Lake Garda and, because the Turin to Milan road was unbelievably dangerous on the way there (cars driving at 100 mph, drivers trying to get in the boot, and so on) we decided to take the long route back. We drove through the Alps, and into Germany, Austria, Litchenstein, and Switzerland, then back into France. It took us another three days and was the most fantastic experience! Something we would like to do again, but on a motorbike, possibly!
Jean - I'm glad you won't be able to do any chasing around tomorrow. Sounds like you need a rest. We've had the Geometre here today, too. A building plot we sold a couple of years ago is finally being marked out for a new-build (a Portuguese family have bought it!), so they were measuring up today. The last Geometre I met was unbelievably handsome, but this one was more of your rural farmer variety, complete with a piece of straw sticking out of the corner of his mouth! You definitely need to know just who is doing what job, don't you?
I don't know if I mentioned some time ago that we had lent DH's van to the pig farmers because they were having vehicle trouble and it was taking ages to get it sorted out (like everything round here). It seems we literally saved their bacon ('scuse the pun!) and, at the time, they said they wanted to give us half a pig because they were so grateful. We told them we didn't expect anything, that we may need their help at some point in the future, so it's just swings and roundabouts. Anyway, yesterday I was informed that they are delivering this half a pig to us next Wednesday, and won't take 'no' for an answer! They're insisting that it would have cost a fortune to hire a van, so it seems we are destined to have a very full freezer very soon. It will all be butchered and jointed up into various cuts, sausages, and so on and I'm actually getting very excited about it! The meat is completely organic, too, which is an added bonus. Sadly, I have met all the pigs (Gloucester Old Spots) but I won't ask which particular one it is, in case it's one I've picked up and cuddled when it was a cute little piglet!
Well, I'd better go and check the mailbox before it gets too dark to see outside; one of the drawbacks of not having letterboxes in the front doors here, and no street-lighting either!

Shaz--- Big hugs xx I can only imagine how sad you are feeling but maybe the situation is the best for you just now!! It probably will not be how life is in the not too distance future. Things really do have a way of working themselves out if we can wait patiently for the pattern to become obvious and settled xxTry and do a good deed every day.0

Mrs Moneypenny - thank goodness the twins are doing so well. That's wonderful news.
Shaz - I think Chalky has it exactly right; it won't always be like this. Things DO have a way of working themselves out; they just need time. For now, you must put yourself first - that's important for all of you.
