Hello chums, hope you are all well.

Just popping in for a quick looksee to make sure you`re all behaving, it`s very quiet here though. Wonder if you`re all very busy clicking or hooking or if the mojos are still AWOL ?

Most inconsiderate of them (the mojos)to go gadding off without us - sigh- bet they`re all on the Magic Carpet on the way to Chalky`s place in the sun. Wet and mizzly here too F1, feel like snuggling under the nice cosy duvet and snoozing winter away, I think I should have been a tortoise as they get to do that, don`t they?

DD came home with an earwarmer/headband thingy the other day which she had bought :( silly girl. Just a few rows of rib then a few of stocking stitch then a few more rib rows, stitch it up then add a knitted flower. I have done a few in different colours as GD1 thought she would like one. Just need to go surfing for a suitable flower pattern to tart them up with now.

Socky - keep your chin up girl. If you feel like some more cleaning you could always come and sort me out. My place is a tip right now, the cleaning fairy must have missed my booking ;)

Kathy - hope the bug has finally departed and you feel tons better now.

I know there`s been a lot more going on but brain is numb so will just say.... Hugs to anyone who needs them, plenty available, positive vibes to poorlies, hope you feel better soon.

    Back later.

Hi everyone; thanks to all the positive thoughts on here, I am definitely a lot better now, so I think the bug is now OVER!

My mojo returned slightly last night and I did a bit on the neckwarmer I'm making for myself, and a bit on a blanket strip for the baby elephant challenge, both nice and straightforward, and not too challenging on the old brain!

Elaine - lovely to hear from you.

Chalky - yes, the excitement is mounting by the day. I just keep thinking how wonderful it will be to have the children and grandchildren all together on Christmas day; it feels like it's been a long long time coming! I haven't even thought about making any jewellery, but will take a look at my supplies. I've just posted off a bracelet that I made for DIL1's birthday on Friday, so I should think about making some more things.

This morning I was still playing catch-up with the chores that were neglected last week and, at last, I feel as if the house is now back to 'normal'. I've cakes in the cake tin, and newly-made bread cooling off on the worktop. I've even tidied up the garden and bare-rooted the geraniums which are now in the conservatory for the winter. I've also sourced some new windscreen wiper blades for the car; they need to be replaced but are so expensive here, it's cheaper to get them from the UK, even with the postal charges! I need to check with DH that they are the right ones before I order them.

Well, I think I shall go and sort the washing out, then sit with my crochet for the afternoon. I don't even have to worry about stopping to get the dinner on; I have a beef casserole bubbling away as I type.

The weather is gloomy and damp again; don't know what's happened to autumn.

    Take care, everyone.

kathy i can feel your excitement from here, glad the bug has gone now.
dreading xmas, the first one that i'll be spending without my sons, and as i miss them everyday, i've a feeling that i will miss them even more, but there nothing i can do, josh wont even speak to me, at least danny comes when he wants something.
cleaning fairy has left, and knitting mojo has returned home, so have been knitting scarf hats and gloves for the local homeless.
on the housing front, i went for an independant living assessment yesterday, and will know in 2 weeks, whether i will be accepted for an independant living scheme flat (formally know as sheltered housing:othink i might be turned down due to only being 40)

Also need to see the Notaire as well as get copies of DS' paperwork HOW DID I GET VOLUNTEERED ? I would much rather be in the sweatshop doing sewing or for that matter the knitting machine even if it meant more snowpeeps...GGGRRRR Rant over
will now go and yet again catch up with the postings, cuddles and love to you all.

    Me again.:)

Spent faaaar too much time looking for a knitted flower pattern this afternoon, should have been doing something far more useful like......h*******k, but what the heck. That`s boring.;)

Anyway, I didn`t find anything I liked / thought would look right.
Had a brainwave (OUCH) and looked on Chalky`s world and found her tutorial for a crocheted flower so am going to have a go at that.
Watch this space. Oh but don`t hold your breath, I could be some time.:rotfl:

Wooohhoooooo !! I do hope you get on well with the little flowers --- Anyone who knows me or follows my ramblings will know that I can NOT follow any pattern, 200 Blocks book and I parted company after our initial introduction so if I have a tutorial I hope it is uber easy to follow---- Please let me know PSSO

Well we are having a bit of fun out here at the moment as DD1 has declared that she wants a Spanish wedding bash in 2013 and we have been given strict instructions to check out venues!! An expense account would have made it even better but I am not complaining! It is such fun:rotfl:

We have found a posh golf course which would definitely fit the bill ( for us oldies) but today we found the first Beach Bar that could be a real possibility.
I am a really nosey person and for anyone else like me here is a link

Anyway we are going back tomorrow to ask lots of questions and see what is on offer!

I have just started a new very soothing/very irritating/very compulsive venture ---- a Granny blanket made with small sunburst squres. Lovely but Sooooo many ends to sew in! Could end up a table runner!

Lots of love to everyone --- Gentle thoughts and a bundle of hugs added xx
Try and do a good deed every day.

ps am hoping knitting mojo is returned by first class post tomorrow! in fact any mojo would be good - although I must report that the worlds laziest lady did iron for 1 hour today wahoo :rotfl:and i made some Mary Berry Biscuits although she would be horrified with them:rotfl:

morning ladies, hope everyone is well. had a good nights sleep for a change, knitting group this am, then lunch out with parents, and more knitting planned for later . stuff the housework is my motto for this week lol
for those that hate ironing, i discovered when i broke my wrist, and couldnt iron, that most creases dropped out with the heat of your body, so far three months without ironing:p
chalky, wedding plans sound very romantic

    Hi everyone

Chalky - that sounds wonderful, a wedding in Spain! My DS1 got married in a castle on the edge of Lake Garda - so very romantic, and we all had the most magical and very emotional, time. Another wedding for you to prepare for, a new grandchild on the way very shortly, and a DD to welcome home. It's great being a mum, isn't it? Hope DDIL is doing well. Is she on maternity leave yet?

Jean - thanks so much for offering to do the updates while I am away Christmassing like mad with the family! All being well, we will leave here on Thurs 22nd December and return on Thurs 5th January. My heart skips several beats every time I think about it! Sounds like you've got your work cut out with all that lovely French admin! I hope it's not too much of a pain to sort out!

F1 - that Food Hospital is fascinating, isn't it? I've been reading about life in China (my favourite subject!), and their attitude is 'food is medicine and medicine is food'. They always tackle problems with food, change of diet, and so on, before they turn to drugs, so this programme has a special interest to me. I really do believe that you are what you eat!

Shaz - sounds like you have a lovely day planned. Enjoy it!

Well, the sun is shining away today; I've put some washing on the line although I have to keep an eye on it because it got pulled off the line by the neighbours' dog the other day. Not the dog we look after when the owners are away, but one that lives in the house the other side of us. The owners holiday near the beach for the summer, then come back here for the winter and this time they've brought this little Jack Russell with them, but they don't look after it, just kick it out every day and it becomes a nuisance to everyone else. I almost ran the poor thing over the other day when I was out in the car, then it pulled all my washing off the line, scattering broken clothes pegs everywhere, and it keeps messing in my garden. I've already mentioned it to the mayor but nothing's been done about it so far because the dog still roams. The worst thing is having to clear up the mess it makes; that's one of the main reasons I won't have a dog, and I don't see why I should have to clear up after someone else's. If they would only take it out for a proper walk, it might not roam, but I've never seen a French person walk a dog, and there are plenty of dogs around, so they must either be very lazy or not very kind owners, or both! Rant over....well, unless my washing gets pulled off the line again.

Anyway, I'd better go and do something constructive, like put the kettle on again!

    Have a great day, everyone.
