  • kathy that is so infuriating - I guess you hav spoken to the neighbours with no luck? I know its not the dog's fault but what a bout squirting it with a water pistol when it comes in your garden - might make him think twice?

chalky - how lovely and so romantic - have fun with the organising.

shaz - keep the chin up hun and I know its hard but you will maybe have to shut out your son from your mind until you can cope with whats happening or he comes to his senses - concentrate on the son that you do see and make a good relationship work with him - I hope you get good news about a move soon (((hugs)))

roamin - dont you dare go overdoing things?? as if you would!!!! LOL xx

Oh, Pippa; lots of hugs to you and your OH. I hope he can avoid having to go in to hospital; it's good that the doctor is pleased with the way he is healing. Please take care of your wrist, and make sure that YOU see the doctor, too, if you are worried about it.

Tootifrooti - hope you got the scarf done in time!

I had the brainwave of altering a jumper that I've never really liked because it had a boring too-high round neck. I pinned and cut it right down the middle of the front to turn it into a cardigan, and have just edged one side in blanket stitch and single crochet. I shall do the other edge this evening or tomorrow. I'm actually really pleased with it because it now looks like a trendy cardi - it took a bit of courage to cut it, though!

Anyway, I've just received an email for some written work which needs to be submitted by midday tomorrow, so I'd better crack on with that.

Hello and lots of love to all -- I quietly sitting and having a little hooky time but could actually close my eyes and drop off--- It's that Zumba class again-- I love it and it is such good fun but I am mighty tired in the afternoon --- Update on the shimmy-- No chance -hips will wobble a bit, but the top totally refuses to join in the fun!

Pippa-- Oh! I so want Doh to see the light at the end of your horrible tunnel. What a horrible time you have both had! I hope your wrist gets better soon and he really does begin to fee a bit brighter.
Kathy= I would be annoyed about the doggie too! What a shame because as you say it really is not his fault!Cardie sounds great! Your sons wedding sounds wonderful x

Psso- How did you get on with the flowers? Hope you are not working too hard!
Jean-- What a lot of work and organising for you to do. I hope it all comes together soon.
Shaz-- One day at a time -- Take it easy and be compassionate to yourself__PLEASE xx
Mrs M-- How are the babies? I hope all is going well!
    Kinsey-- Hello!
F1 -- Your poor Mojo -- all lost and alone!!
Big gentle thoughts to all MIA'S or anyone with their hands overflowing right now.

To clear a little of the confusion -- We have 3 children/ grown ups! You know what I mean! Our son is 32 and he and his wife are having baby Gilberto next month. Gosh that makes it sound soon! woohoooo!
We then have one daughter who is 30 and she is the one who has just got engaged and is thinking of getting married here in Spain.
Then we have another daughter who is 24 and is at present still gadding about in Australia!
So, yes, Kathy is right. What a lot is going on.Happy times ahead hopefully! DDIL is still working and hoping to continue for a couple more weeks yet so that she can take the longest maternity leave possible after little Gilberto is born! It must be very tiring though!

We went back to Neptuno's today to meet the owner about the possibility of a wedding there -- It is amazing really because like the UK mention wedding and the Euros pile on!! We shall see.
We have also been to a lovely golf resort. Here is the link if you fancy a nosey http://www.weddings-abroad-guide.com/desert-springs-resort.html

Surprisingly this looks the cheaper option!
Anyway we shall have to wait and see what the young people have to say. We are having fun though even though working out the packages is hard work
Try and do a good deed every day.

    Hi everyone

Chalky – after reading the moving article about the elephants on your blog, just take a look at this. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2059502/A-rescue-forget-Baby-elephant-mother-pulled-mud-lagoon-conservation-workers.html
Yet another wonderful example of just how good people can be, and something that completely restores your faith in humanity, after all the bad news we seem to hear these days.

On the subject of weddings on foreign shores, DS1 and DIL1 used the services of a wedding planner in Italy. A fantastic English lady called Pam organised everything from the service in the castle conducted by the local mayor (with her on hand to translate), to a magical champagne boat trip on Lake Garda, to the seven (!) course meal at a riverside restaurant. She took care of everything, was there throughout the day but blended in so well you hardly knew she was there, and DS and DIL were thrilled to bits with it all, including the price. It might be worth you seeing if there is something similar in your part of Spain. Here's a couple of links http://www.romanticaweddings.com/ http://www.spanishweddingplanner.com/

Both my DILs worked for as long as possible, to make the most of their maternity leave. One word of warning, though; neither of them wanted to go back to work at all! They found the thought of leaving their babies (even with loving grandparents!) really difficult. I think that was half the reason that DIL2 had another baby not long after the first one was born!

Elaine - sometimes being busy doing nothing does you good!

Mrs Moneypenny - hope the twins are doing well.

Well, tomorrow is yet another bank holiday here (the last of two this month – the French do so love their bank holidays!). This one is in honour of Remembrance Day, so a worthwhile reason, even though most of the services here are being conducted at 10am rather than 11am (too close to lunchtime, probably!). I shall have to pop to the shops this morning because they’ll all be closed tomorrow.

I did a bit more of my neckwarmer last night, and a bit more of my elephant strip, so my mojo is definitely returning, thank goodness. I must admit, though, to trying to crochet while Frozen Planet was on, but the programme was so good that I had to put my hook down and watch it properly!

It’s too early to see what the weather is like but I hope it’s as good as it was yesterday, when it was lovely and sunny. My washing even survived next doors’ dog and stayed on the line!

Well, I'm off to have another cuppa before DH gets up for work.

Hope you all have a great day.

Hugs to all those who are anxious or unwell, and to all who are MIA. Maytaurus - I think about you a lot, and Mrs MW - how are things with you?

Im trying to get an idea out of my head I dont know whether its a good idea or not ???? right im putting it on the table ..........

I cant decide what to buy my Mum for christmas and had an idea that I could buy one of the cheap baby kits and "reborn" her a dolly for christmas - Ive not quite finished mine off that painting was ok and I know where I went wrong now but Im struggling with the rooting of the hair so would paint the hair on my Mums one instead - am I trying a bit to hard with making things????

Then I had a second idea that I would decopatch some Initial letters for some of my family and friends - still involves buying the bits to do it though

There - there are my debates at the moment - what do you think - am I taking too much on considering my MOJO is completely gone off awol sounds like its with PSSO's

Hugs to all especially those that are struggling with health and other problems xxx

Hi F1 - sounds like you're really struggling there! Any chance of a photo of the dolly, so that we can see what you're up against? The decopatch sounds great; it's not something I've done before, but I've seen things that have been done. Here's a couple of links that may help you to decide http://www.cardinspirations.co.uk/section.php/1001/1/decopatch_project_ideas___using_decopatch http://www.thedecopatchplace.co.uk/page46.htm

It's lovely to make things but make sure you don't take on too much; you don't want to find that you've put yourself under too much pressure....and it's not that long until Christmas!

  • I wanted to post that everything is going really well and no problems.............BUT it isn't the soil test was done we ended up chasing for the report and as we have the appointment arranged for the Geometre (the guy who will measure out the land/garden etc) we needed the results..........GGGGRRRRR seems like he has decided that his company will be doing the septic tank NOT IF I CAN HELP IT! They were far too expensive, anyway DH is off to see the SIL's builder tonight to see if WE can be told just who is doing what jobs! We have cancelled the geometre who was due to arrive next week..........and no doubt after discussions with the builder he will be phoned up and asked if he can come at some other time. I am certain that SIL said she would deal with all of this in conjunction with her builder? Off to calm down a bit and perhaps make it as far as the sweat shop....love and cuddles to you all and thank you for listening. Public holiday tomorrow so I can't be doing anybody elses stuff ha ha
