Shaz hope things go well with council and bidding for flat (which I don't understand)

    Chalky lovely to 'see' you.

mioliere oooh what an exciting time you're going to have, and of course you'll need a complete new wardrobe, well at least new boots anyway. Hope you're feeling better.

Purpleteddybear I do understand how you feel, and could weep for you, as I weep for my Mum even after six and a half years. Big hugs.X

Hi everyone and thanks for your lovely comments about our trip back to the UK.

Kinsey - yes, it will definitely mean some new clothes but a completely new wardrobe? Perhaps not!

I'm still feeling like you-know-what; this thing I've got has really knocked me sideways. I must be a bit better though, because I only need a ten minute sit down in between chores, rather than half an hour. I just feel exhausted all the time, so the smallest job seems to take forever. If it's not showing real signs of going by Friday, I shall see the doctor. Still, the upside is, as I keep telling myself, at least I've got it now and not at Christmas!

I will get the update done over the next few days; I hope that's OK? I shall have nothing to add to my totals; I've really lost my woolly mojo at the moment - I hope it comes back soon!

Hugs to you all and I will catch up with all the news sometime this week, I promise!

rang mum this morning and im really plesed to say the hats id knitted are all too small:T i was really pleased to hear that. my brother told mum the hospital hjave a drawer with a few bits in so ive told him to leave the hats in there for any other little ones on the unit the body warmer wasnt useful either as they arent allowed to wear anything other than nappies in the incubator and when out they are in hats and blankets. so waiting for thumb to feel a little less stiff then ill do some more hats in a bigger size:)

kathy you have enough on your plate at te moment your wooly mojo will no doubt return once things calm down a bit

caracara - neither do I !!! where the money came from I mean
but I can tell you where it goes now...on an extra holiday each year  so that's a goody from giving up...it was hard for a while but the longer I went without smoking the more determined I was that I would'nt give in, I reckon you've cracked it now :T
kathy - don't worry about the update just concentrate on getting better :) I read your post about the christening and I was in tears as well, what a lovely thoughtful thing for them to do and it will make everything so much more special for you all :A
jean - :wave:hello wondered where you had got to, hope you haven't been overdoing it
chalky - hope the weather is being kind to you over there now
mrs -m - good news about the twins. Ouch*** hope the thumb heals quickly
PTB - hope the cold gets better soon. Special (((hugs))) for you, I am glad you have someone who you can talk to it does help so much x
ISOM - great link thanks, the needle cases look so simple will have a ferret round for some felt, I know I have some lurking somewhere

Haven't been knitting as wrist is still playing up, I can crochet for a while though so I have started some 6" crochet squares for the L/H homeless blankets. I will sew them into 6ft lengths as someone on the L/H forum suggested, less sewing up for those at HQ to do ;)

Well that half hour turned into at least an hour so I better move myself and decide what I am having for Dinner. OH can't eat much so he will have clear soup or scrambled eggs...again...poor old thing he has lost 18 lbs up to now. But just 4 shots to go

    Have good evenings all

Hello and lots of love to all.
Lots of posts about such a variety of things -- Oh! And woolly stuff as well of course!
Love to all those with their hands still overflowing!

PTB-- After I lost my dear Mum I was lost too!! Then I thought about all the people she loved so much who were still alive and I found his helped me be the person she would have wanted me to be for those loved ones--- It might help you a little--- I do hope so! Every time I missed her so much ad felt so negative about life I actually said to myself " Thank you Mum for all you have done/given/shared with me!! Every time I said this to myself a lovely memory of my lovely Mum came flooding back and gradually a mental shift took place and very sad feelings were replaced by memories I felt so grateful for. xx

Kathy-- I do hope you soon feel better it sounds such a horrible bug. I keep thinking of you and your wonderful trip!! What exciting times we have to look forward to at Christmas!!!

Pippa-- I am just wishing this treatment to be over for you both and a brighter horizon come into view!
Jean -- How lovely to have you back -- I bet it will not be long before your machine strarts whirring with " Washables!" I hope you are not going too fast. We have taken a few days to recover from our visitors. Cleaning and sorting etc!!
Shaz -- Just a hug xx
F1 -- Hope you are feeling brighter
    PSSO -- Helloooooo?
Mrs M-- What wonderful news of the twins! Brilliant,
Lots of gentle thoughts to all xx

Well I am so useless at finishing things!! I am 3/4 's of the way through a pale blue cardi but can't face all that counting for the 2nd front!! So I have jumped to the Loving Hands new challenges and started a 6' x 6" strip. What a joy to sew up!!!!!
I have decided to use 1 colour but change the pattern every 6 inches ---

    001.jpg

30 chains to start + 2 chains as a turn.
My tension for a 6" square is 13 rows and I have worked the first set in clusters of 3 trebles and then the change of pattern is made up of 30 trebles.
Try and do a good deed every day.
  • Evening lovelies..in haste as need to do stuff...will be pleased when this craft fayre is over!
PTB big big hug for you; its rough going and a good councellor can be the key to finding who you is and rebalancing what you want with life etc plus help you work through your feelings of loss...slowly slowly...gently gently...
Pippa nearly there...poor oh must be on his knees...hope he is able to go with it and rest when needed wothout feeling guilty...
Socky sorry to hear about the boys...often people mis in same circles and its not as uncommon as you would hope amongst the younger generation :( Fingers crossed on the flat...they will want your house so hope its sorted soon! Much cheaper bills for you too. Hope tabs sorting...
Roaming lovely to see you and hope you will get some rest now that visitors have gone!
Miol any news on a date to come home?
Right off to see if I can whip up a scarf to flog! hugs all!

Hi everyone. Just popping to say thanks for all your kind thoughts. I'm still not feeling too good but I know I am slowly getting better. The worst thing is it's given me a bit of a cough, and that has made me really tired, so everything is an effort at the moment. DH, bless him, has done some chores and I've kept the meals simple - he got rained off work yesterday. He's pointing the outside of a house; he doesn't mind working in the rain but the material he has to use doesn't work well in the damp, so he ended up coming home in the afternoon. He's almost at the end of the outside work; it's taken a few weeks and this is the first time the weather has been bad, so he's more or less on schedule. Next week, the work will be inside, so it won't matter what it's like outside.

Well, my mojo must be on the way back because I almost picked up my crochet last night. Hopefully, this afternoon I can get some done.

ISOM - I still haven't booked the ferry (simply because I've not spent much time on my computer lately) but I'll do it some time over the next couple of days. We are planning to go back on 22 December and come back here on 3rd or 4th of January which I think is a good couple of weeks; we usually only do ten days away, so a fortnight will be a luxury! As soon as word got round at home that we were coming back for Christmas and New Year, we got invitations to lots of parties and so on, so I think we will definitely need the two weeks! Despite feeling unwell at the moment, I get a really flutter of excitement thinking of it all, and I think that it's helping me get better!

Pippa - thinking about you and your OH.

Jean - hope you are taking time off just for yourself.

Shaz - hope the wrist continues to get better.

Chalky - not too long now before you become a grandmother, is it? I bet you can hardly stop thinking about it all! DIL must be getting quite big now; I hope she's keeping well.

F1 - hope you have a good day today.

    Purpleteddybear - hugs to you.

Mrs Moneypenny - how wonderful that the twins are doing so well. It's been a worrying time, hasn't it?

Well, I'm off to have a coffee, and will call back later.

    Have good days, everyone.
