Hi everyone
I don't think I posted yesterday; the day just flew by with food shopping in the morning, collecting the laundry from the holiday home I look after (the guests had taken it all off the beds and folded it up ready for collection; I really appreciated that!), and then, in the afternoon, we finally caught up with the modern world and talked ourselves into buying our very first flat-screen TV. We've been putting up with our old little portable TV in the sitting room, and an even smaller one in the kitchen since the lightning struck the house and took out our main TV. I must say we're very impressed with what we bought! The insurance company has confirmed a pay-out at some point, so we just decided to spend it in advance!
Woolly-wise, I'm alternating doing squares with making a neck-warmer for myself; I found some left over Sirdar denim chunky yarn, just enough for what I need. I made one for my mum for her birthday last month, and she absolutely loves it, so I thought I'd get one done before the cold weather really sets in.
Chalky - have a lovely time with your guests!
Pippa - hope your OH is managing to eat something.
Mrs Twins - thank you so much for your emails and pm! I can now post my snowman square off!
Shaz - hope your wrist is feeling better these days.
Jean - I bet your knee-deep in monsters, aren't you?!
Well, my bank has confirmed that the transfer of funds (for the deposit for our holiday accommodation in the UK at Christmas) has left my account; now, do I get excited now, or do I wait until the people have confirmed that they've received it?! It takes about five days, apparently. As soon as it's confirmed, I can book the ferry; I just have to be patient, I suppose!
We had a beautiful day's weather yesterday, so I'm hoping for another good day today, especially as I have all the holiday home washing to get dry - about four loads.
Anyway, I'm off - the kettle is playing my song again!
Have a wonderful Sunday, everyone.

Hello all - have you missed me??? Ive missed you all so much have tried going back through all the posts and have got completely lost - what a la la ............... no change with me there ha ha
I know so many of you are going through so much so i feel a bit guilty saying this but I really dont know where the last 2.5 weeks have gone - I only realised last night that I had not even lurked!!!!!! - I feel like ive been on another planet and not well at all - Ive passed out - Ive been on the sofa asleep etc etc and hurt so much and now on Friday my Doctor has decided to start looking at Fibromyalgia - its something I have thought of in the past but never had the courage to say to the Dr but now he has suggested it so has gone away to read my notes "properly" (his words! are they not meant to read notes properly anyway!) I think im right in saying that a couple of you lovely ladies are sufferers
Im just so sorry I cant keep regular pace with you all but I do think of you and send lots of love and hugs to you all - it seems you have all been busy and some are poorly or have relatives that are poorly so special hugs to you - I really do need to put a bit more effort in cant keeping letting you all down;);) anyway if im not here I cant see if any of you are getting up to mischief (mention no names Jean .......................):D (ps thanks jean for my scottie dog - I think Mrs Goggins and Dog are going to be a longer term project)
Anyway off to read some more posts as always much love and hugs xxxDebt Diary: Im not going to be an Ostrich anymore -LBM - 16/1/12 /0 -
Hello Im just doing my bus impression (you know dont get one for ages and then along come two tee hee)
Im at butterfly mind stage - cant settle to anything - have been trying to complete some projects for christmas but now all I see is patterns that I just have not got the right wool for - ever had that problem??? and am trying to be MSE and not buy any - have just been into my stash and whoops have loads but not enough of one colour to do bigger adult hats etc for gifts
So thought would just ask does anyone have any new ideas / patterns for charity bits or gifts for family that they could share????? (bit like the mock cable baby hat which was a big hit and very addictive) in otherwise someone kick me up the bum and give me something new to knit :rotfl:
I always like looking at new patterns especially when they have been tried and tested by you lovely ladies
oo just remembered its LH new challenge next week - thats excitingDebt Diary: Im not going to be an Ostrich anymore -LBM - 16/1/12 /0 -

Chalky hope you're all having a lovely time.
F1 I've missed you, sorry you've been so poorly, but sounds like you diagnosed yourself. Will look for some patterns, back later.
ISOM isn't it nice that they're frinds, kitties I mean. Do they sleep in the same basket? I do like to see cats all curled up together, so you can't tell where one starts and the other ends.
Love to you all, as always. xxx0 -
F1 have a look at this pattern, remember it's American.

Hi everyone.
F1 - it's good to hear from you but I'm sorry you've not been well. I hope things are looking up for you now.
Kinsey - lots of lovely links there; thanks for posting them!
ISOM - no, it's not long now! We've booked a holiday aparment in our home town for the three days over Christmas, and also New's Eve and the following day; we didn't want to impose ourselves full time on anyone because it's such a busy time of year, but we can use the apartment as a base, and then visit when it suits everyone. The most important thing will be that we will be with the children and grandchildren on Christmas day, and see my Mum, sister and BIL and family that same week. The people who own the apartment confirmed receipt of our deposit yesterday, so we will book the ferry this evening, and then it really will be all systems go! My heart skips several beats when I think about it; I can't wait to see everyone, and to enjoy a good old British Christmas - it's the only place to be at that time of year!
Jean - hope the weekend went well!
Mrs Moneypenny - how are the twins?
Shaz - hope the wrist is feeling a lot better now.
Pippa - thinking about you and your OH.
Well, DH has now left for work, so I have some baking to do, then I really must tackle the ironing that I've been ingnoring for long enough.
Thanks to Mrs Twins, I now have the address for my snowman square, so I shall get that packed up ready to post when I go out tomorrow (C*******s shopping!).
It looks like another lovely day; I've spent the last couple of days drying the washing from the holiday home, so I shall fill the lines up again today with our stuff.
Hope you all have a lovely day, and lots of hugs and positive thoughts for all in need, including Mrs MW and Maytaurus - hope you are both doing as well as can be.
