    HI everyone.

Mrs Moneypenny - what fantastic news about the twins. I shall continue sending positive hugs!

Shaz - hope the new meds help. Let's hope you hear some good news about the swap soon.

ISOM - I see what you mean about the snowpeeps and what else they look like! Ooh, er, missus!

Chalky - how did DH get on with the osteopath?

Pippa - how is the book going?

Jean - hope the weekend with the monsters goes well!

Thanks, everyone, for your comments about our trip back to the UK. I've just checked to make sure that my bank transfer for the deposit for the accommodation is on its way, and it is; I shall just wait until it's tracked into the receiving account, then I shall book the ferry and start really planning. As it is, I am finding it very hard not to be excited. I surprised the cat (next door's abandoned moggy who now lives with us - his decision!) by doing a little dance when one of my favourite songs came on the radio yesterday! The song was very very old - 'Bringing on Back the Good Times', by the Love Affair. I actually went to see them play at the Winter Gardens in my home town, when I was just a teenager; hearing it again really took me back. Really giving away my age, now, aren't I?!

Talking about the next door neighbours and their pets; they spend the summers in a seaside resort about an hour and a half away. They have just returned for the winter, with a new dog - a sort of Jack Russell crossed with an Airedale. He's quite cute but, like the last dog they had (and lost because they think a stoaty-thing took it in the night), he gets thrown out in the morning, and just ambles around getting up to mischief. He barks a lot, winds the cows and calves up, wrestles with the other dogs in the area when he gets into their gardens, and generally tries to keep himself occupied. He follows me when I'm outside and I have to discourage him because he chases the cat, although I can tell he's friendly. I just feel really sorry for him, and wonder if they'll still keep throwing him out for the day when it's raining and cold. The French aren't renowned for treating pets like pets; hardly anyone walks their dogs here; they just keep them in kennels outside, sometimes tied up, so they don't have much of a life. We're the only people here without a dog, and I think we're the only ones who care! I will have a word with the mayor, but I don't think he'll care that much. It's sad, isn't it? I know there are bad pet owners in the UK, but I think here it seems to be the norm rather than the exception.

Anyway, I still haven't done the update - where does the time go? I promise I will do it before lunch!

Just doing the update and have a couple of questions:

Anakat - do you want the brooches you made included in your totals? If so, how many did you make?

Sketchingkari - you can add the totals of all the things you've already made for the orphanage so, if you'd like to, please let me know how many and what they are.

    I think that's it!

Edited to say that the update is done; you can find it by clicking into my name at the side of this post, then going to my 'homepage'.

Many thanks for all your totals!

Tootifrooti - I've been speaking to another neighbour, and he is going to have a word with the owners because the dog's been digging up his lawn, so we shall see what happens!

    Afternoon everyone
Thank you all for your concern for OH he is so touched by you lovely lot :A
We had a quick visit at the QE today which was good, OH was given something to make it easier for him to swallow and he has managed to eat a little more, they prescribed Fortisip milkshakes and puddings 2 weeks ago and he has Fortijuice as well now, so we will see how things go now.Today was treatment number 19 so he has 11 to go

kathy - I started the book yesterday and I love it, it's very addictive and hard to put down. I am so happy for you now the date is set for you coming back to "Blighty" for a while, and what better time than Christmas to see your grandchildren, and the rest of the family of course,
toots - thanks for the info if the stuff they gave him doesn't work I will have a word with the dietician on Wednesday about trying some SUCRAFLATE :)
ISOM - ouch...I hope your head is better today
shaz - you sound perkier, so pleased Daniel is settling down.
hello and welcome wasbrokegettingbetter we love it when new friends join us anything you want to know please just ask :)
mrs -m - I am so pleased to hear the good news about the twins :T
chalky - yoo hoo nice to see you glad you arrived safely and have settled back into your little Spanish nest :D
jean - OK where's the magic carpet then? it's hasn't arrived here yet...mind you with all the leftovers and cake I am eating there won't be room for me on it :rotfl:

OH has just gone for a kip on the sofa, I should be doing the ironing  but I need to make a few phone calls... any excuse to get out of it ;)

Never managed to do any of the fingerless gloves the other night, tried but 'ouch' it really hurt I reckon its because the needles are small ones, so did some crochet instead...

Got a real bargain today, the Daily Express had a token in for a tub of 100 Ecchinacea free they usually cost me £9.49 so got 1, then bought another paper and took the token back to Holland & Barrett for another one so that's saved me £19 :jand the tokens are valid until Monday 17th. Love a bargain I do :D
Off for a cuppa and an hour making phone-calls

Took the various makes in today and people loved them! They agreed with my assessment looking a bit like a part of the male anatomy and am taking a bare one(just stuffed) in for the one doubter! We can do with a laugh at the mo!
Hoping people have a chilled weekend! I plan to have a quiet day at home tom followed by babysitting sat night & church sun but thats it!

hi all, hope everyone is ok, its quiet in here
been resting my wrist for two days with no knitting, but have found my next project, whilst i was surfin the net. Bramley cavies guinea pig rescue, is a local rescue centre, and to raise funds they are asking for knitted and crocheted guinea pigs to sell, so i emailed the lovely lady, and she is going to post me the knitting pattern, as i no longer have a printer
