Yes, I did tell Chalky to open a bottle of wine, and I'm glad she's following orders!

Jean - please slow down, girl! Drink too much if necessary! I'm now off to search for those Doc Martens on Ravelry - my boys always wore those for school (not woolly ones, obviously!).

Good morning everybody and lots of Spanish love tucked in -- Special gentle thoughts to all the poorlies or have their hands full right now!

All well here but DOH is starting a course with an Osteopath here who has helped him so much in the past so I hope this really helps him with problems in his lower back.

We are getting over the long drive and change of beds, temperatures etc and had a good nights sleep last night!

Well while he is away this morning I am going to get some hooking done whilst I wait for you lovely lot to arrive on the Magic Carpet!!
Try and do a good deed every day.

The Magic Carpet hasn't reached me yet; it must have stopped off at Jean's first!

Sorry to hear about your DH's back; hope the osteopath can help.

Well, I thought I'd done my week's baking the other day, but I've had to bake an extra cake this morning. One of our friends has just got back from a flying visit to the UK, and kindly brought me back loads of my favourite tea. He wouldn't take any money, but said he would like one of my cakes (which I took as a compliment, of course!). The only problem will be hiding it from DH when he gets in from work. I don't want to give it away with a great big chunk taken out of it! He can share the PG Tips, though!

I've also been busy writing this morning; my online work is picking up in fits and starts but, when work is required, it's all systems go, and the deadlines are very short! Still, all more pennies for the Little-People-and-Wool-Fund.

I'm almost too scared to say anything in case it all goes pear-shaped, but we have provisionally booked a self-catering apartment near our home town in the UK for Christmas and New Year. We should be leaving here on 22nd December and spending two nights with the friends we usually stay with. They have their family staying actually over Christmas (including two new granddaughters born, one to each of their daughters, just last month!) but they have insisted we stay before the family arrive, and after they've gone. We will spend 24th, 25th, and 26th in the apartment (but most of the time will be spent with the children and grandchildren); then we go to Somerset to visit my Mum, and my sister and BIL and their family, then back to the apartment for New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day, then back to our friends, and back here on 3rd or 4th January (if I can be prised away!). It all sounds very hectic but it will be fun, too, and I am getting very excited. We can't be sure until our deposit has been received by the people who own the apartment; I sent it off by bank transfer yesterday but, as it's coming from France, I have no idea how long it will take. As soon as they have confirmed that they have received it, I shall book the ferry, and then it will be all systems go. I shall meet our latest granddaughter for the very first time, having only seen her on Skype up till now!

A real bonus is that I can buy presents for people back home without having to worry about the weight for posting, so it widens the scope. Last year I spent a small fortune on postage, and I'd much rather spend it on presents!

Anyway, I shall try not to get too carried away and go on and on about it!

Shaz - I hope your plans are going smoothly and that you are taking it easy with your wrist.

Pippa - hugs to you and your OH.

Mrs Moneypenny - how are those little babies? I hope they are doing well.

Jean - hope you're resting up before your monster-sitting weekend!

ISOM - how is Shiomi settling in?

Well, off to put the kettle on and fill and ice that cake, then look for a hiding place for it!

mioliere fingers crossed everything goes to plan. I can hear the excitement from here.

Chalky so sorry to hear about DH's back, hope it improves very soon.

ISOM good news that cats have decided to be friends, I know you have to leave them to decide who is 'top cat' but it can be hard to watch. Hope work doesn't give you another headache tomorrow.

Socky just squishy hugs, even though you are much taller than me. Take care.
