IN MY RUSH I SEE SOME OF THE LINKS DON'T WORK - will see what I can do to fix them

    Hi everyone

I'd just like to point out that the link given by Jean here is for the US OCC site.

The UK site address is www.operationchristmaschild.org.uk.

Yeterday I finished knitting my 100 puppets for this year! Quite pleased to have finished now, as I'm getting rather busy organising the local OCC campaign. I'd still like to knit a few snakes now, as these are a good filler for boy's boxes. When I get time , I'll do a big tah-dah on my blog!

The OCC website has some knitting patterns, and I also have some on my blog: Musings of the Puppet Lady.

I had a lovely parcel from Helen over on Loving Hands recently - full of puppets, crochet snakes, purses and other stuff for shoebox fillers. Not sure if Helen reads this thread, but if you do, Helen, thank you so much!

If anyone else has been making things for OCC and wants to know where to send them, please pm for my address. Our checking of shoeboxes starts in the first week of November, so I'd like to receive things by then. Alternatively, go to the OCC website, and search for your local drop-off point under "Where to take your shoeboxes". Any items delivered there will go to the local warehouse and be used there.

Love to everyone on this thread and welcome to all newcomers.

Mrs Twins - I've asked the lady running the snowman challenge on Ravelry for the address for sending my square, but have had no reply. Is there any chance that you could pm me her address, please? Many thanks!

Kinsey - you're more than welcome to tea. The cakes have cooled down now and are ready for eating!

Puppetlady - 100 puppets is an amazing achievement!

evening everyone, baking sounds lovely kathy, can i pop over for some please?
jean, hope the next filling is the last one for a long time, seems you've been seeing a lot of the dentist lately, is he good looking? lol
had both boys here this afternoon, and never again, the volume and the bad language was appalling. i asked them both down, as wanted loft emptying, and there some heavy boxes in there, as well as cupboards etc that they both wanted. had to do 2 trips with stuff to there flat, and i have 2 bedrooms full of wool, and still some in loft, dont know where it will all end up, cant possibly fit it all in the flat
anybody passing wakefield, be sure to pop in for a coffee, and take some. would post but funds are very very low just now

    Evening all

Busy day again...when isn't it...Jan and her OH popped in this morning which was lovely, then Hospital this PM not too long today, had to call in at the shops on the way back as I was running out of food and that will never do;) back home unpacked and put grub away.
Then Doctors for Flu jabs at 5pm, nurse had a long chat with OH, then it was my turn another long chat(good job we were the last one's in) she asked about my wrist and then went in to see Doc who wanted me to go back for a Cortisone injection but I just can't cope with that at the moment so she prescribed co-codomol for now, surely it will get better soon...she said it takes around 8 weeks

kathy - guess what arrived this morning???yep Forever Amber I am really looking forward to starting on it. DIL made an apple cake for us and poor old OH can't eat anything like that so I have just had to eat it all...such a trial...:rotfl: So pleased BIL is a little better now and the Jaundice has gone, hope the results are good on 17th positive vibes being sent x
Janet - well done on reaching your target 100 is a huge amount :T

Off to get the shepherds pie out of the oven, hopefully OH will be able to manage some, only the mushy bits though, he is in so much pain the Doctor put him on Morphine yesterday

I aim to finish off some fingerless gloves tonight that I started ages ago:o

Take care all and have one of these (((hugs)))

shaz sorry to hear the boys were a handful but at least you got some things done and some stuff away. what about using the vacuum bags for your stash- I used them when I moved here for my stash and was amazed at the difference - much more manageable - you could get the vacuum sucking ones:D or the ones that you just roll and the air is pushed out - you cannot think of disposing of your stash:eek: - thats way too precious:D or do you know someone with an attic that would keep some? what about your friend that you will be living nearer to?
I bet you will be able to stuff it under the bed or on top of the wardrobe oce you get there and you will just have to start knitting like crazy once your wrist is healed:D

huge squishy (((hugs))) for Pippa and DH xx
