Cold here today, but it did dry all the sheets I had wash after our visitors, so resultand I folded them as soon as I got them off the line so they wont need ironing...thats the worst thing about all cotton sheets...I planted a load of pansies and primulas today for a bit of Winter colour, some of the geraniums are still in flower so I will leave them in for a while

Welcome newbies - what are the terms that you don't understand Marru? Is it knitting stuff or general forum stuff? I find that I don't undertand a lot of the contractions and initials that I find on forums, but Google can provide an explanation.
SK - hope that the council proves reasonable re the changes. Please don't push your activities over the next few weeks - we want your arm to heal properly!

post number 3389 -I have been thinking about this thread and you all
Prompted I must say by Maytaurus's post. How we miss you when you are coping with life! And how lovely to see you popping in.
I keep meaning to keep a little notebook to keep track of everybody here as I am sure I forget important things that are going on in peoples lives and then heaven forbid they might think I don't care!
This thread has become a lovely part of my life and I know it has for others too. As we have said before a place to come when a little bit of life is staring you in the face. Which might make you smile or cry.
I have been thinking about these letters KYSTGYSES - Which in my beautifully bonkers way stands for KNIT YOUR SQUARE TO GIVE YOUR SHARE EMERGENCY STASH. I was wondering if it could be a way of getting us all on board again as I know lots read the thread but don't post and I for 1 miss you.
So it could go like this. We often seem to have appeals for 6 " squares for a wonderful range of causes. What if as many of us who want to be involved just made a few squares and then tucked them away. Then if any one of us finds an appeal we could alert all the people who have a stash and they could all be sent giving an instant response. It would also be a wonderful resource for any of us who might need a blanket when things get really hard. A awy of sending our love in a very positive way.
It would be lovely to see all our friends joining in with a pledge to stash a few squares and everyone would be free to post about an appeal they know.
I will wait and see what you think of my latest totally bonkers idea

That is exactly what I meant, have this information in the start of the new thread and then it can be updated and new links added. Than you, I shall have a good browse through"Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."

Good morning everyone,
Pippa thankyou, all prayers gratefully received. I have passed all messages on to my brother, he was so touched to think people who are total strangers to him could be so thoughtful. I explained that this group is full of beautiful, caring and giving people. X
roamin', how did it go at the dentist, or would you rather not talk about it?
Socky be careful with that wrist, you'll need it for moving house. How exciting for you, but do take care. Gentle hugs.
Marru start browsing and you can lose hours, I did that on the Loving Hands site last night:)
Love to everyone xxx0 -
Morning everybody, well that dentist really has a thing about me and the teeth................took him ages to get the copper band off the tooth in question - spect three was filling all over and around it...I only went OUCH once took about 5 goes and 10 minutes. He then polished it all up making it slick and lovely, then a quick scale and polish of the whole lot BUT during that he found I need a "tiny" filling somewhere else.......so have yet another appointment for next Monday -this will be the fourth week running and folks will begin to talk I am certain! No money as yet has changed hands or mentioned for that matter..........DH might have to sell something precious to pay the bill at this rate - hope it isn't any of my dogs! I am due to baby sit the 3 monsters this weekend and so looking forward to it, soon as I drop them all at their various sports on Saturday I am hitting the shops, starting with the haberdashers, yarn, material, then a swift lunch in the wee bistro I really love, followed by clothes shops in the afternoon. Will also remember to buy something for the dinner Saturday night that I can fling in the oven when I get back, so they won't be starving. Trying to get some MORE snowpeeps done so that I have some spares, I just know someone will pop up in November/December and say they need some. So off for a swift cuppa then back to do some paperwork that has been sitting in the in tray for at least a week. Ye all have a great day, will pop back later. Shaz....DO NOT TRY TO DO TOO MUCH you will only regret it later when it needs sorting AGAIN.

Hi everyone
I'm just collecting totals for the update, which I will post later today.
Jean and Marru - we definitely need a definitive (does that make sense?!) post that is easy for newbies to get to grips with. It must seem like a special code, and it's so easy for those of us who have got used to all the terms and so on, to think that everyone else understands it all, too! Marru - thanks for making the point; it was definitely (I must love the word 'definitely' today) needed!
Kinsey - lots of hugs to you and your brother.
Shaz - try not to overdo it (but, I must admit, I would be exactly the same; it's horrid trying to sit and do nothing, isn't it?).
Jean - as the dentist has a thing about you, he might not charge!
Pippa - thanks for asking. Sis and DBIL have managed a caravan holiday in Brixham (where they have family) and had a good time. BIL gets tired easily but is able to help his brother out in his workshop every morning. He is due the results of his latest scan on 17th, so we'll know more then. On the whole, he's very positive and upbeat. His jaundice has completely gone, so that's something he doesn't have to worry about. I can't wait to see them all at Christmas time - even though he calls me 'the old witch' (long story!) I know he's looking forward to seeing us, too! Glad you had such a good weekend with the family. With all the anxiety, it must have been a real tonic to you and your OH. I'll be interested to hear what you think about that book; I just love it. The author gets you totally absorbed in what's going on, and it's a fantastic history lesson, too!
Well, I've been baking all morning (apple crisp, date and walnut cake, and tea loaf), so I'm off to clear the kitchen up now! Will let you all know when the update has been done.
See you all later.
