aww Mrs M thats so lovely! i take my granny with me as she is on my finger in the forms of two diamonds and emerald! Still miss her...
well took the sheep to work and they loved them! Sold one (brown curly one) within seconds so thank you so much! Every penny means that a young person gets something like a birthday present or day out and for some they really wouldnt get it otherwise so a huge thank you from me!
So pleased its Friday as been a bit of a struggle this week; havent booked to see osteo yet as still too sore but will next week; have booked a trim tomorrow to cheer myself up plus will have some dvd's this weekend and chill!
Miol how are your friends and farm? Good news re oh and work...does that mean you will be able to come for a visit soon?
    Socky how you doing?
Hope people are ok amongst the trials of life;...sorry there are teenage traumas but def think you did the right thing even though she isnt happy now. Will be later when she has more opportunities in life. One of the things thats hardest to get accross is that job security is no more and there is SO much competition for jobs and places on courses that grades do now count as if they never did in the last decade - thats if youcan get a place! Teenegers indeed...I now have one more so am up to 38 and rising lol! Saw someone related to my old work (adoption) today and she said there is a job going but I said, without hesitation, that Im happy where I am! Must be compleatly bonkers lol!!
Right off to do more decopatching! Sorry compleatly forgot to get piccy of hearts and theyre in work so Ill try to remember next week!

Now I am going to make my next set of Kiss the Geezers squares and ISOM has kindly said she will adopt them from me whilst we are in Spain incase there is a pre Christmas shout or whisper!
I think Acrylic is best as it is so much easier to care for, washing etc! And most is really soft.hard wearing and reasonably priced which all helps

Just some lovely news from DMIL WHO IS 81. I have just included 86 premmie hats in Lou's parcel knitted by her

  • Hello

My first post to this thread ... I'm Laura, 38, Glaswegian and knitting. I've lost count of the cat blankets I've done (I used to be a Cats Protection lady) and am working on my first SANDS shawl. It's really simple, relaxing knitting and perfect for in front of the TV or Stitch'n'!!!!!.

Looking forward to getting to know you.

PLEASE dont do anything to hurt yourself and ring someone if youre feeling very low...big hug for you lovely ...remember this too shall pass and tomorrow is a new day. Did you do any more about getting a cat/kitten so you have some good company...? As Im sure Laura will confirm (look at siggy!!) they are a great comfort...What do you have planned for the weekend?

    Thanks for the welcome.

Yes, I can recommend cats for company, stress relief and depression. There have actually been studies showing that cuddling/stroking a cat reduces blood pressure and other symptoms of stress. I have Bipolar Disorder and my cats are a real God-send. I've even seen them sitting with me in shifts when I've been really ill and they think I shouldn't be alone!

  • morning all, and welcome to the thread notjustlaura. was sat with the lappy on me all night and was such a comfort.
feeling a bit better today, but still very very worried about my sons, they are both mixing with the wrong people, and i wish they would both come home, where i could keep an eye on them, despite the trouble they caused here, at least i knew they were safe.
isom, i'm torn between a cat and a dog, both would be good company i feel, having never had a pet before my guinea pigs, and they are in their cage most of time, so no damage been done to house while i am out, which is my biggest worry.
also desperate to move house and dont think it would be fair to get another pet then unsettle it in the move.
my next door neighbours where playing very loud music last night, and even with my tv turned up i could still here the thump thump thump of theirs, makes me want to move now
