Hi everyone on this lovely sunny Saturday; well, I hope it's sunny for all of you!
Chalky - beautiful hats; your MIL is a treasure, isn't she?!
Notjustlaura - a very warm welcome to you; so gla d you have joined us! If you haven't already found it, here's the post I made on page 95 of this thread, post number 1885; it will give you more info about what we do!
Shaz - I wish things would become less stressful for you, but I know what you mean about worrying about your boys. I remember a famous author (Faye Weldon) being interviewed about one of her four sons. He was already getting into lots of trouble when he finally ended up serving a prison sentence; she was asked whether she was worried about him, and she said 'not now; at least I know where he is'! I could really understand where she was coming from. I'm sure your boys will turn out fine but it's horrible that they are putting you through so much agony and anguish. By the way, I would definitely recommend a cat for company. Dogs are lovely, of course, but a lot more demanding. I love that aloof independent attitude that you get from a cat! This is a great site for someone thinking about owning a cat - http://www.simonscat.com/
Nic - well done on your first emergency square. It's a very satisfying feeling, isn't it?
Well, DH is out buying materials for the job he starts on Monday and I'm halfway through baking (bread and cakes), so I've come on here with a cup of coffee and,now that I've finished it, I suppose I'd better get my pinny back on and get back in the kitchen!

its absolutly throwing it down here, but the weather isnt going to get me down today, just got back from viewing a gorgeous jack russel puppy who is 6mth old, and absolutly gorgeous.
i am thinking a cat might be better for me than a cat, as i love walks, but since kids leaving home, i dont get as far or as often, cos i dont like going on my own, and my mum only likes going for short trips when its warm. a dog would be an ideal companion for someone who likes walks i feel. and the puppy is gorgeous, been looking on web and bought a puppy book, to see all it entails
love to all

Shaz - having said what I said about cats, if you've already been introduced to a Jack Russell puppy, you'll have fallen in love, surely. It actually sounds to me as if you're meant to have him! As you say, if you like walking then a dog is the ideal companion. If you do get him, please post some photos!

he is gorgeous kathy, and i have fallen in love with him, he is so cute and adorable, unfortunatly not really house trained, but i can deal with that, had to do it with the lads lol

Hi Shaz; he does sound lovely and, as he's only six months old, he should be easy to house-train. As you say, you dealt with your lads, and they were two at the same time!

Went to Hobbycraft this morning to get some narrow ribbon so that I can finish up the gowns I have knitted. DD coming over tomorrow so she will be able to take them to the next sands meeting she goes to.

Good advice knitter nan and well done on all the blankets!
Socky hope today has been easier; re dog or cat its what works for you! For me walking dogs not practicle because of working and travel so cat is ideal as more independent; would have both if I was in a position to lol! Keep us posted on what you decide and meanwhile look after yoursef.
A big thank you to roaming for my snow pepys who arrived this am; am keeping them out of the way of glue and paint and will finish them off when piggy is finished and less risk of harm! Really do appreciate them! What a great bunch you are!
Despite having a sleep can hardly keep my eyes open so going to take my own advice, listen to my body and go to bed, despite the fact that its so early lol!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0 -
Good Morning one and all and a lot of love tucked in!
Busy Day yesterday as we had to go to Taunton for a Golf Day-- Not me of course. Our friend organises it every year in Aid of the British Heart Foundation., Her husband died aged 50. She has raised over £20.000 so far- amazing!!!
Did manage to post all the parcels on our way and have started another batch of hedgehogs for the Wildlife Centre to refill the postage pot!!!!
Lots of lovely posting going on here and do nice to see all our new friends calling in!!! Please keep sharing a little bit of your life with us!
Shaz -- I love dogs -- we had 1 for 16 years and now adore looking after Buster when DD1 needs us. They are marvellous company and do get you out and about but they are a tremendous tie for a very long time. I am not trying to put you off -- just something to think about!
Pippa-- Lots of gentle thoughts to you and DOH --- We will all be thinking of you both xx
Knitter Nan-- It is so wonderful you are knitting the little gowns. What a blessing for a dear little soul and the parents.
Not just laura Lovely to see you here - I have never tried a sands blanket -- lovely that you are knitting them
Nic 73-- First square completed -- Brilliant. Be careful we all suffer from terrible addictions and obsessions. All of the woolly variety!
Gentle thoughts to all with their hands full or overflowing!!!
We are supposed to be doing a Car Boot Sale today but the weather is not playing ball at the moment and it does not look too promising !!Try and do a good deed every day.0
