Hi everyone
Thank you all so much for your kind wishes for my mum. I've spoken to her this morning and she's fine now, but it all came as a real shock - not what she was expecting at all! She actually sounded quite traumatised, bless her; she hates having anything done to her eyes! She said she's had 'far 'hurtier' things done to her in the past that she's liked more than that'! My sister is taking good care of her and the op was a success according to the doctor, but she has to wait a little longer for the eye to heal.
I can't put into words how thrilled I am to hear your good news, Jean. It made me shed a tear or two; I'm so pleased for you, and for your DH and DS - the worry must have been awful for you all. I bet you're well and truly smokin' now!
Well, I'm still up to my you-know-whats with helping our friends out - things are a bit traumatic at the moment. I'm hoping they will all settle down soon.
On the plus side, after a beautiful sunset last night, we stood out in the garden looking at all the thousands of stars up there, and saw a massive meteor shower, complete with shooting stars. Absolutely wonderful, and it was a good moment to stand and stare.
Will try and catch up with you all later.
Hugs to everyone in need.

HELP!!!!! please!!
since i have decided to take wool with me next week to do in hospital - I have some lovely thickish wool that i had been keeping for myself to do a throw for my bed - I am jsut goung to do it along the lines of Chalky's cushion but I need it to be oblong not square and cant think how to get that shape at the beginning - can someone help me please? I can do basic granny squares no problem so I am guessing its maybe more trebles and a differnt formation instead of the 4 x 3 but just not sure of the numbers - I know i could do it lengthways but would prefer to do it in the round and watch it grow that way - or do you think I would be better to do larger squares and put them together?
any and all suggestions would be very very welcome before I go demented!!!
toots xxPeace will be mine

I dont know whether I am on foot or horseback (as the saying goes) - the house is completely upturned - got two leather sofas from freecycle late last night - they are great but need some new feet and a clean up so its everywhere - DOH does like to spread himself around when he is working:rotfl: - trouble is funny as it sounds i tend to get a bit twitchy if the house is all a mess  - DOH has managed to get a couple of days holiday which is lovely but I just dont get on when he is here - only a few last days of the holiday left and I feel a little sad cant believe it has gone so quick
Well we have the Village Show tomorrow and I am more than a little nervous as Ive been told competition is VERY HIGH and they are VERY STRICT - oooo ladies I feel like Im under interrogation - what have i let myself in for - DS is also entering four categories - knitting, flapjack, space model and cardmaking - will let you know

Hi back again see i told you i was twitchy! - I meant to ask a big favour again whilst i was on here last - does anyone know where I can find a pattern to make a "Mrs Goggins" from postman pat? - the only patterns i have found were for pat and the twins and they say they are now out of print - these were made by jarrol - someone else said they had seen postman pat ones by alan dart?
Its a bit of a weird request but my dear 31 year old sister has been called goggins since she started work for her employer some 12 years ago! (something to do with her hair pulled back and her little round glasses) and I thought i could attempt one for her for christmas - I have been told from sites that i have seen pictures of them that they are quite hard so i dont know how i will fair!
Still as "la la" as the day I started on this site :rotfl:;):D:rotfl:Debt Diary: Im not going to be an Ostrich anymore -LBM - 16/1/12 /0 -

Sorry to get your hopes up but yes i see that the book is out of print - someone else has been looking - they have asked on the forum there and there is an Alan Dart group - maybe you will have luck there. If you can even get the ISBN and then check booksites that deal in out of print stuff?
