Chalky I'd love to join the Kiss The Guys group, I have half a dozen squares that can go in ready basket (once I've sewn the ends in!)

Roamin' please take care, it's nice to know you feel so much better though.

mioliere it's very sad about the farm, I'm sure it would have been a success round here! I do hope they come up with another idea.

Shaz chin up, thinking of you and sending cyber hugs.

ISOM well done with the spinning and learning yet another craft.

Love to everyone I've missed as always. xxx

  • I had it as KISSED JESUS or even worse kissed guisers (Scots will understand that one- its Scotland's equivalent to Trick or Treat!).
PIPPA.S I was terrified of the THOUGHT of the scans and the MRI as well as the mammogram......but when they all came around to it - well what a big scaredy cat I was all over nothing - think it must have been a claustrophobic thing with me , having been stuck in lifts far too many times I now try to avoid them at all costs! Good luck for your DH and his scans.
Just finished hookering another hex jacket - I really do have to move on and get myself another pattern - its turning into a "Calvin Klein" Obsession month!
Off for a lookie see for another little bit of knitting I think - no work in the sweatshop - to cold and far to much sitting around....need to keep the leggies on the move - but I am anticipating back in there early next week.

 Do we HAVE to kiss geezers ?? Not sure there`s any round here I`d WANT to kiss to be honest...............
Unless little J counts as one - be quite willing to kiss him :T.

Sorry you`re still having probs Shaz ((hug))

Loft didn`t get emptied last night, decided it`s a job for the weekend as DS might decide to lift the boards which are there. There isn`t that much in there to be honest, Chrissy tree and decorations and a suitcase full of J`s outgrown things and a boxful of fancy teapots which DD1 used to collect when she was younger. They can go to her loft ;) Other than that it`s just spiders I think, as we had a blitz not long before Jim died.

Eaves cupboards had boxes of videos from when the kids were little, a couple of tellys - which will only be good for playing the videos as they aren`t digital ones - some archery stuff which we`ll have to keep in case DD decided to take it up again,if her wrist ever gets any better.:(

Old sewing machine got dragged out, it`s faaar to heavy to lift. Not sure what to do with it. It was a `tit for tat` purchase many moons ago. :rotfl: When first husband bought himself a leather jacket (which we couldn`t really afford and he didn`t need) I went and bought the sewing machine. My reasoning was I`d have to make the girls` clothes as he kept buying stuff for himself and I`d no money left for them ;) Had good intentions but I think I only ever used it for shortening curtains, making cushion covers, sides to middling sheets, and never did do much clothes wise. Might have to try it out again.

Still doing the crochet squares, nice and easy and don`t need much brain power, although I got a hankering to do a wee prem Sands type blanket so maybe the knitting needles will come out again for a change. Time will tell.

Special thoughts and hugs to anyone having a tough time just now.

I like providing squares for a named cause but I also like the idea that we are prepared to respond to an emergency. Partly becaue I often can't do very much it's nice to know that I can respond in good time even if I'm not actually up to knitting at that moment. ALso, if we give away 'the bank' every month then we don't actually have an emergency stash. I think that it would be nice to do both - have an optional monthly cause and an optional stand by stash.
I have to admit that we have so many ongoing causes at the moment that as a slow worker I have to pick and choose anyway!

Jean, I can hardly believe what you said about the health assurance! I thought it was there to cover you for however long you are in hospital. It really is shocking, isn't it? I'll be really interested to see how you get on now that you are complaining about it. We had to send our Carte Vitales back to CPAM when our UK-reciprocal entitlement ran out in January. We are still waiting for our new CVs now that we are with RSI, and we've just been told that our mutuelle is not valid until we get them, so we've been wasting money since January! How does France survive? Certainly not by employing any common sense or logic! I hope you're recovering well?

I'll call back in later - it's been a very busy day here, but then, what's new?

Evening all; Pottery day here with a trip to gatwick tomorrow to take my godaughter who is quite nervous (understandably) of being on her first escorted flight; alas mum and G will not be appeased so the sooner she steps off the flight the better!
Im happy with whatever for the snogging squares but needed to express my niggle with them sitting for too long! Im hoping that my box got to Japan charity ok today and know that she is very appreciative of any new ones, as is mrs twins etc!
Roaming sorry that insurance been a mare but what happens if you have a proceedure that needs long stay etc? Just would hate for you to be uncovered but can totally understand why yore so hacked off! As for France you wanna try Italy! How the country gets anything done is beyond me; they have coffee all morning, long lunch and sleeps afternoon so one does wonder when they work!!
Miol so sorry to hear about fram...they put so much in to it as well but must be worthwhile in the end! Look forward to emerging plans!
Right off to do some more wooly stuff!
    ps hope scans went ok!

  • We lived in Italy for 4 years back in the late 70's so perhaps that's why I accept the situation here.....am searching for competitive quotes for health insurance - this time without the the 'extra we will pay you for being in the hospital AFTER 4 consecutive days!' Believe that if we just put the dosh it previously cost us monthly for that cover into a bank account we will be far better off...............ggggggrrrrr still spitting tacks!
DS did loads of escorted flights from all over the globe - just loved them - being spoilt rotten but a pure worry for parents and grandparents at the other ends!

Jean -- Your situation is enough to make anyone spit tacks! I know in that situation I would have rather given the money away than effectively getting conned! Insurances are a nightmare aren't they.
Well we are still waiting for new Great niece or nephews arrival so I found a pretty little bib pattern today and got the machine out-- Pictures later!
ISOM Good luck with airport trip!
Psso --- There would be a queue for kisses with Baby J!!!!:rotfl:
