Emergency help needed girls! Making this:
http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/sherwood-sleeves
but using silk wool dk (in a rather gorgeous deep purple!) and the pattern calls
http://www.lionbrand.com/yarns/homespun.htm
which is a chunky.
Question is that Ive assumed that I need more stitches so have added 50 - so effectievly doubles it. Its for a shrug so doesent need to be exact but do you think 50 is about right?

• I'm home again, I did have an update but didn't get it on in time last night nor get any photo's taken, still not to worry it can be kept to one side for next week – might make my totals look a bit more respectable!

I see mention of squares, also see that PSSO has a number 2 in some KY....????? so I need to go and see if I can catch up with everybody and everything, about 10 pages I think - which will probably take me most of the day.

Ye all take great care, missed you all but you have a huge hug from me – will pop back a bit later

• Hi all, I very rarely post now due to family commitments but having read some of this thread i really felt compelled to say what a good idea it seems and i would definitely like to crochet ( i dont knit) some items but i would like a little clarification on a few things.
Basically two questions-
1. What do you need?
2. Where shall i send them?

I've loved reading this thread, i havent read all of it since it is HUGE but think it sounds like super fun and i appear to be a bit addicted to buying wool so it may be a good way of using it up!
My nan taught me to crochet last september and it's addictive but i normally only have a small amount of time on my hands and i like to complete a project quickly so small quick items would be best . Thanks

Hi everyone, although it`s bright and sunny here it`s blowing a gale so far too unpleasant for outdoor pursuits so guess what I`m doing ????

No, no wool is involved :(

I`m having to do the dreaded house****.
All in a good cause though, we`re getting the loft and eaves spaces insulated next week so having to clear eaves cupboards, which means clearing DS`s room a bit to put even more junk into it. Had to don the mask, gloves etc as it`s an absolute health hazard. Never mind, once it`s done it won`t get in that state again - unless he decides to move back home again - might change the locks :rotfl:.

Roamin - it`s nice to see you back. Hope that the batteries are recharged and you`ll be back in action in the sweatshop soon - once you`ve got the greenie and polytunnel sorted after your absence of course.

F1 - well done you for venturing out and about. Hopefully will get easier as time goes on.

Seakay - sorry times are tough for you but fear not - there is life after divorce. I divorced first one after he`d played away once too often in the 17 years we were together, thought I was off men permanently, then met my dear Jim a couple of years later and had 20 happy years with him. They`re not all rotters.

Socky - Monday again :j peace in your house ??

Oh dear, coffee`s finished so I suppose I`d better get back to the grindstone again.

Back later.

Elaine.

Pennypinchingmum - just saw your post.

Have a look at page 95, post 1885 to see what we do.

We do all sorts of things from prem baby stuff to things for elderly folk. Small things you might want to do are prem baby hats, blankets or just squares.
Things can be sent to various places. Loving Hands, Preemiesuk, Lisa`s stars, Operation Christmas Child, there`s an appeal for squares for Japan at the moment and Chalky75 has suggested some of us might like to build up a stash of 6" squares for `emergency use` if there`s an urgent need for them somewhere they will be ready to send off immediately.

I`m sure someone else will be along shortly to tell you what I`ve missed out. Nice to see you and welcome to the group.

• I don't like secrets but sometimes they are justified – as most of my family know where I roam in cyberspace I have purposely had to keep quiet whats been going on and where I have been this last wee while. Now I am home and managed to get hold of my Dear Wee Sister this morning (she has been on a fortnights holiday) I can now come clean.

Last Tuesday I went into hospital, Wednesday morning I had keyhole surgery for a total
hysterectomy, back home Friday morning ALL SORTED, surgeon to see me for follow up on 6th June. I spent a quiet weekend catching up with family members I could get hold of – I feel so well I am beginning to think I am a bit of a fraud!

I have managed a wee bit of knitting even another of the crochet hexagon jackets and made a start on a baby blanket BUT I have high hopes of getting far more done now that I can concentrate again. I haven't quite caught up with all the forum news, but believe me I will – its just taking a wee bit longer than I anticipated

HI and welcome to Pennypinchingmum - it's great to have you on board. I see that PSSO has pointed you in the right direction. Please feel free to ask if there's anything else you need to know. We are always happy to help!

Jean - what a surprise.. well, sort of, but you know what I mean! I am so glad you are recovering after all that. As it happens, a good friend of mine here had exactly the same op just three weeks ago. She felt so well that she overdid things (typical woman!), and now she's feeling a bit sore and slow, so please please please don't do too much while you are getting better. That's an order!

Seakay - hugs to you.

I'll try and catch up with you all later. I did my back in over the weekend and can't sit at the computer for too long, so I'm knocking back the ibuprofen (it must hurt, it's unlike me to take pills!).

I have to go and get on with the dinner. I'll do the update tomorrow; hopefully, my back will be a bit better by then!

Have a great evening, everyone, and Jean - TAKE IT EASY!
