Knit Your Square to Give Your Share - PART 4

Morning everyone, hope you`re all tickettyboo.:)
Bit cloudy and breezy here but fingers crossed the washing will get a bit of a blow before any rain comes.
I really need to spray the back garden with weedkiller - the weeds have grown like triffids this past couple of weeks - but it`s either too windy, like today, or rain forecast, or raining !! I did run over the tops with the strimmer yesterday so at least they are at ground level again for the moment. The garden did look lovely and lush with all the green, just the wrong kind of plants :rotfl:. Funny how the dogs manage to flatten any plants I want to grow but can`t control the weeds.
Been cracking on with the crochet squares. Now have quite a few for japan and emergency stash. If I remember to get a battery for the camera I might get some pics on.
I`ve been doing some for throws for the sofas - and have another project in mind but I`ll keep that one under wraps for the moment in case it goes pear shaped. Might even try a hexagon cardie like Jean if the mood takes me.
DS and DiL2B were here the other day and she was having a look through my Jan Eaton 200 knitted squares book. Big hints being dropped about fancying a blanket. Looks like I`ll be kept busy for a while.
I haven`t done any ironing at all for ages - sorry I tell a lieI ironed 3 tops last Friday before we went away for the weekend
- and I don`t intend repeating the exercise any time soon.
Shaz - so glad to hear things seem to be going in the right direction for you, it`s about time.
Mrs moneypenny - hope life isn`t too challenging for you at the moment.
Maytaurus - lovely to see you posting, take good care of yourself.
Puppetlady - I quite agree with you. Some `good causes` aren`t all they seem to be and it`s great to see MrsTwins and Chalky putting photos and reports of their efforts for all to see.
Right, being told we have to go shopping - little J needs milk and nanas so time to go.

Morning all!
Welcome news - it sounds as though you could be about to get some appropriate help Shaz!
Hows the spinning going ISOM? That ebay wheel went way over my budget but I'm going to keep an eye out.
Great idea for emergency squares stash Chalky, I'd like to join KYSTGYSES as well please!
Love reading all your news Mioliere - always admiring of the amount that you fit into a day!
Been a bit of a mixed couple of weeks for me: Aunt died, v good friend of my sister died, divorce absolute came through and sleeping even worse than usual so very tired all the time.
On the other hand, painting of outside of house continues apace, looks great and lads doing it very kindly took some garden rubbish to the tip for me.
Masseur I got talking to wants me to be a test case for the second half of a course she's doing so from the end of June I should be getting a free reflexology session a week for about 12 weeks which is fab because it's a therapy that I'm interested in but couldn't possibly afford a course. First time illness has had a positive side! (She wants me because she's interested to see the effect if any on fibromyalgia).
Picked up some v cheap whoopsied cream at local Spar and made 3 little pats of butter for the freezer.
Got a lovely bag of woolly remnants from ISOM which I'm making inroads into for charity knitting, so I'll actually be able to have an update tomorrow!
Just off to collect a couple of library books that have come in. Have a great weekend everybody.0 -
Hi Everyone!
Apologies for not getting on sooner.
Thank you so much Chalky for the gorgeous Squares recently received, very nice of you.
We have had workmen here and also Mr. Twins has been at home.
I just want to tell you all about my 'Olympics London 2012' Challenge.
I have put all details on to SIBOL CHALLENGES, if you want to pop over.
www.sibolchallenges.blogspot.com
I enjoyed making the Royal Wedding Blanket with your help and I was so pleased that
when auctioned by Great British Yarns that it raised £112.00 for Prince William and Kate
Middletons Charity Gift Fund.
I have set a new Challenge to make a Blanket to celebrate the Olympics London 2012.
I am inviting Ladies on MSE to take part if they want to, by sending me 6" Squares with the
Olympics theme in mind.
When the Blanket is finished next year (DEADLINE NOT SET YET) nearer the time I am going to auction it on EBAY
with the help of my Brother and all proceeds will go to a 'UK' Charity. Which I'm gathering ideas for.
This Blanket will hopefully have pictures of the Olympic Torch, Olympic 5 Rings, Sports, Faces/People/Nationalities,
Flags of lots of different Countries taking part etc., The ideas are endless.
I'm sure we will have lots of fun with this Challenge, it will be really interesting to see what ideas Ladies come up with, and at the same
time we hopefully will be raising money for a UK Charity. They seem to be having a hard time lately with the recession.
Ideas for Charities - Pop over to Ravelry please and leave your ideas on the Olympics London 2012 discussion board.

Thanks for allowing me this space to announce it.
Hope everyone are well.
Hugs Suex

Hi ladies - I really hope you are all well
Seems I have been MIA for weeks - its a bit tough at the moment for me - lets just say MH team are trying my patience........
Anyway have you missed me?????
My sister has had her baby - wait for it 11lbs 2oz! beautiful boy
And the twins arrived a couple of weeks ago 1 boy 1 girl and they are gorgeous too - just the neighbours which is coming Monday
Im now the proud owner of a "retro" knitting machine and have mastered a square.....
And this week have had my first hypnotherepy session - we are paying privately for this (not NHS!) - its was wonderful and I think has made a difference (have not cried once since which was happening on a daily basis the last month or so!) - have been out on a couple of little walks and even got myself to the post box on my own - so its all go here

some v useful symbol and videos for those of you struggling to learn crochet. Hope they help! I was initally daunted by charts but now actually find them easier to understand than the written instructions.

Afternoon all - just nipped in - hope you are all having a good Sunday
sock-knitter - Ive just tried to send you a Pm but your box is full - it was just to say the last message I had was from chalky on the 10th May - so whether its my computer or MSE around that time I dont know but my post didnt appear and neither did your PM to me - floating around the airspace are the lost posts tee hee - hope you are ok - sounds like you might be getting somewhere at long last - I truly hope so you really do deserve some luck with this big hugs xxxx
Hopefully you are not all too busy - Im off for quick snooze while the boys watch the race - I lay and work out in my mind what Im going to knit me thinks
Oh I really must take a picture of the ironing pile - Im horrified with myself - its not been properly done for weeks - sounds like PSSO but I just keep "pinching" the odd thing for the boys and bits for me - have done a few bits for work/school and thats it this morning
Someone send me a virtual boot up my bottom pleeeeeeeeeeeeease :rotfl::rotfl:
Hugs to all J xxxxDebt Diary: Im not going to be an Ostrich anymore -LBM - 16/1/12 /0 -
1 cat blanket
2 emergency squares
Anakat - 2 strands of 4 ply together knits as DK. The pic of the angel pockets set is gorgeous!
Does anyone know what size ctochet hook the KK squares are done on? I only ask because I use a 3.5mm hook and a 6" granny square takes me 6 or 7 rounds depending on if it's wool or acrylic. I can't work out if they want 6" crochet squares or if they want 5 round granny squares.
Blowey here today so got the towels washed and on the line. Managed to save all the water by directing the outflow pipe into a bin ( use eco friendly washing stuff so can use all on the garden) and used some to give tubs a good soaking and make room in the bin for the rinse water which I can use over the next couple of days.
Love and hugs to all - here's looking forward to a good week ahead!0
