    Hi everyone

Sorry I've been MIA lately; just too much going on Chez Mioliere! I have done the update which you will find by clicking onto my name at the side of this post, then going to my 'homepage'. Please let me know if there are any errors, and I will put them right! Thanks for your wonderful totals for this week - you are all stars!

I will complete the square I am doing for Mrs Twins, then have a go at making some for the cause that Chalky posted yesterday. I see that ISOM has already made some, so they are in this week's update under our latest category, which is 'Kyoyu Kyoyu Squares'.

Pippa - have a great time. I know it's a working break, but make sure you find time to unwind, too!

Chalky - have a great time with your visitors!

Lots of hugs to you all, especially those who are sad, unwell, or anxious, and I will catch you up later.

Maytaurus -- How lovely to see you posting -- big hugs x
Shaz -- Some tucked in for you too!

Men have gone out on their bikes so I am having a quick minute on here!
If anyone need the address for Lisa's Stars it is --
    Hi

Sorry for not contacting you sooner, we have had technical problems

    PO Box 653
    Swansea
    SA1 9LL.

is the address to send things to.

And for the Japanese square share the information I received and address is.

    Hi Linda - Welcome!,

Thank you for responding, below I have hopefully answered the most frequently asked questions:-

The dimensions for the squares, knitted or crocheted are as follows:

    Crochet - Granny squares = 5 rows
    Knitting = 15cm x 15cm or 6" x 6"

They can be made in acrylics or wool and no restriction on quantity!
Don't worry too much about hook/needle sizes as I will match the weights of the squares as they come in.

Just send as many or as few squares as you can and I will sew them together before sending them off.

If possible, please limit your use of pink and white due to the colour associations the Japanese have with these two colours.

As for the teddies, we are sending fairly small ones (due to postage costs), each tucked into a blanket so if you are willing to do some, I would love them too x

The address to send to is:

    Kyōyū kyōyū - share
    5 Foulds,
    Church Street,
    Trawden,
    Lancashire,
    BB8 8RY

Thank you so much for participating,

Hope this helps. Right must get a wiggle on!
    Love to all

    Hi everyone.

Chalky - thanks for posting all that info. I have emailed to ask about the Japan challenge but not heard back yet, so I can now note down the address.

Maytaurus - lovely to see your great post. Thanks for all the hugs and blessings - they are much needed on here at the moment, sadly.

Well, the weather is perfect, again; we've been so so lucky this last few weeks, although the lack of rain is starting to have its effects. The grass is becoming parched and dry, and the hosepipe ban is still in operation. Much as I don't like the rain, I know we need some, and we need it soon.

I shall rummage about in my wool stash for colours for the squares for Japan, and I must get together a parcel of squares that I've made for Mrs Twins, too. I've been so time poor lately; I've had a lot of online work to do, and that takes time and concentration, and is better done when DH is out of the house, otherwise I get roped into helping with other things!

I'm still waiting for the red tape to be finalised so that we can plan our trip home. I think that may be why I keep busy; if I had nothing to do, I would probably get a lot angrier about the delay!

Anyway, off to look at my stash - I have lots of different colours for the squares, and will save my pinks and whites for granddaughters!

Take care, everyone, and my huggle of hugs has been replenished, so please help yourselves.

I have been thinking about this thread and you all
Prompted I must say by Maytaurus's post. How we miss you when you are coping with life! And how lovely to see you popping in.

I keep meaning to keep a little notebook to keep track of everybody here as I am sure I forget important things that are going on in peoples lives and then heaven forbid they might think I don't care!

This thread has become a lovely part of my life and I know it has for others too. As we have said before a place to come when a little bit of life is staring you in the face. Which might make you smile or cry.

I have been thinking about these letters KYSTGYSES - Which in my beautifully bonkers way stands for KNIT YOUR SQUARE TO GIVE YOUR SHARE EMERGENCY STASH. I was wondering if it could be a way of getting us all on board again as I know lots read the thread but don't post and I for 1 miss you.

So it could go like this. We often seem to have appeals for 6 " squares for a wonderful range of causes. What if as many of us who want to be involved just made a few squares and then tucked them away. Then if any one of us finds an appeal we could alert all the people who have a stash and they could all be sent giving an instant response. It would also be a wonderful resource for any of us who might need a blanket when things get really hard. A awy of sending our love in a very positive way.

It would be lovely to see all our friends joining in with a pledge to stash a few squares and everyone would be free to post about an appeal they know.
I will wait and see what you rthink of my latest totally bonkers idea

Morning all, hope you`re all well.

Chalky - how did the PJ weekend go ?

Well we had a smashing time away. Mind you, thought on Thursday night we wouldn`t be going as the car started making very ominous noise. Decided to bite the bullet and hire a car as we had been looking forward to the weekend for ages. Put my car into the garage for them to diagnose the problem and left DS in charge of negotiations.

Went down to Lou`s (Loving Hands) on Friday with a couple of black bags full of stuff for her. She`s now got her office in full working order, beautifully decorated and lots of storage so now all she needs is her new shed in the back garden for all the boxes she gets at the end of the challenges.

Had dinner on Friday night with a couple of the LH members who were staying at the same place, lovely to put faces to names and got a call from DS to say my car would cost £480 to fix  OUCH.

Saturday was spent at the knitting show. Not as many stalls as last time I don`t think and definitely not as many bargains, although I did come home with a few balls of wool and a pretty pair of scissors shaped like a fairy.

Sunday we went and admired lovely butterflies, busy leafcutter ants and lots of spiders and creepy crawlies.
Then we were off to Ikea to get some bits and pieces and got home later on that evening.

Spent Monday and Tuesday catching up with greenhouse duties, collecting car, shopping, hairdresser and dr appointments - it`s been all go.

Wooly wise, still haven`t got the slanty crochet sussed, but have decided to just do smaller squares and sew them together :rotfl:.
Much less bothersome than trying to do a large one and getting very frustrated when it goes wrong. One of the LH ladies thinks it`s something near the beginning which throws it skewiff but I`m just following the pattern so  I`m stumped. Maybe tension or something. Maybe just go back to the knitting methinks, at least I know what I`m doing there.

Off to do something with a lump of pork now - was cheap at the supermarket yesterday. Back later to read through.

    Just saw your post Chalky.

I`ll sign up for the emergency stash group :j great beautifully bonkers idea.

I`ve got a few squares ready to send to the Japanese thingy anyway, so I`ll just keep practicing the crochet and one day it might be perfect. ;)
