looking forward to getting my mojo back, been a while since i did any knitting, at least a week, tho i have been busy with making granny squares, using up oddments
chalky, love the bag, may have a go at this myself.

    morning all

shaz glad your trip to the gym is making you feel better and seems to be doing you some good

had a bit of drama last night youngest DS was down on the park after school with friends, (i keep checking over the wall) anyway a neighbour called me over and said she was just walking through and DS had been holding his friends bike and some big lads snatched it off him and rode off on it, he was white as a sheet and felt he was to blame for not holding on. if im honest i was glad he didnt as they were bigger and there was two of them. they had abandoned a really scruffy beatup bike that they came on and pedaled off one on his own bike and one on DS friends. the chip shop have got them on their cctv riding by after they did it but its a back view sainsburys have them as well but said the images are grainy. the police did not even bother to come out, the poor lad whos bike it was said he had just said my DS could have a go and was going to chain it to a tree but it seems he was targeted as the boys who nicked it seemed to arrive on the park just after him and they made a beeline for his bike and kept watching him and DS, DS is the slighter built of the two so i think they waited for him to have it so they could take their chance. i cant beileve they would literally steal it out of a childs hands. none of the kids or grown ups on the park had seen them before and they all said it happened to quick to do anything.

    Hi everyone

Mrs Moneypenny - that's shocking, but your DS did so right not to hang onto the bike. I hope he doesn't feel bad; it's not his fault that people steal what doesn't belong to them. I hope they catch the culprits and deal with them properly. Hugs to your DS and his friend.

Chalky - I hope things calm down for you soon!

Elaine - yes, that's right; just go to the next corner along. You should find it looks really neat and properly square.

Anakat - how lovely to have some info about you! I'd thought you were in your thirties, too! It makes me wonder about the pictures we form in our minds about the people we 'talk' to on here! I've actually met Chalky for real, spoken to Roamin in the Gloamin by phone, and also DPixie by phone, too. Congratulations on a long and obviously happy marriage. And you like cats, too, so you must be nice!

Shaz - it's good that the weight-training is helping with your arthritis.

Well, I've just gone to put the kettle on and, from my kitchen window, I can see that the farmer's lovely horse (so lovely I call her Black Beauty) seems to have got herself trapped between a fence and the cow barn; she's looking longingly at the grass in her field the other side of the fence and shes standing in full sun, so I'm going to go and tell the farmer. He can't see that part of his farm from his house. Only a few days ago it was the cows that we had running around our garden; never a dull moment here!

Mrs Moneypenny -- What is the world coming to. That really is a horrible story. I hope your son has a good day at school!Good Karma if the terrors fell off the bike!
Shaz-- You are going to be super fit! Good luck with the bag x
Kathy -- Isn't that funny we both thought Anakat was in her 30's! i must say I weave pictures of all of us in my mind! But looks as if I am way off!

I suppose we could have for example 3/4/5 facts about us ---- But would hate to make anyone feel awkward and perhaps 1 of the strengths about this thread that there is an amount of anonimty which allows us to "speak" freely!

I had to go to town this morning to have a blood test ( ache in the leg has never gone away!) Well the doctors is 50 yds from my Wool Shop-- Well I had to buy myself a present for being brave didn't I? Oh! and as it was a fasting Blood Test so I had to buy a bar of chocolate too!

Well I am going to have a lovely weekend -- DOH always goes away for Cup Final Weekend so its Woolly and crafting all weekend!
    Love to all xx

  • BUM- I had a blood test last week, no chocolate or wool shop visit....wish you had posted that bit earlier....I feel I am letting the side down!

Mrs Monneypenny, hope your DS and his wee pal are feeling a bit more secure about what happend - also you can tell them I have put a HEX on the bike and the wee sod that knicked it will get his come uppance shortly! I also included my sisters Doc's receptionist - as she always seems to NOT HAVE APPOINTMENTS for my sister. You never knew I could do spells (wish I could spell properly - words etc).

Off to continue the "right wool for the pattern" search...........oh and do I just love making VON TRAPP FAMILY FROCKS, Chalky you know I do - 1 duvet = think it came out at 17 at the last count. I don't do the pillowcase ones (no spare pillowcases) but use http://www.oliverands.com/blog/2009/04/popover-sundress-in-sew-hip.html age 2 - 8 then I made them even bigger..........I will cover the world's little girls in frocks, well in between the hooking!

Chalky - I think three or four facts about us would be very interesting but only, of course, for those who feel comfortable sharing information! Hope the blood test results puts your mind at rest.

Jean - hope your blood test went well; what a shame you didn't have the choccie!

Mrs Moneypenny - hope your DS had a good day at school today. I've been thinking about him a lot.

Shaz - the horse has now been rescued and is busy doing what she does best - grazing, swishing her tail and, now and again, having a roll and a quick canter round her field. She's not ridden so has a lovely stress-free life in the countryside, and I just love to look at her.

Well, it's baking here; my outdoor thermometer is showing 30 degrees and guess what I've just set up to do? The ironing; I must be mad!
