    Knitters please help!!!

I haven't knitted for over 20 years so I'm struggling to pick it up again!
    Heres my problem:
    Start with 30 stitches.
    K1, (inc 1,k1) twice, (inc 1,k1) four times, k6,(inc1) twice k1.38 sts.
However when I do this i still have about 6 stitches on the needle iyswim. My Pattern is an Alan Dart one - its a photocopy and the purple has been assumed because its at the end of the page so it looks like its been cut off. Please can someone help me translate this? Thanks soo much.

    Hi ethansmum,

I think you should take out the purple bit, and do the previous instructions again, as in twice? Think that should add up to 38 sts.

Hiya knitty aunties - guess where I was going all dressed up ?
My cousins were dressed up to go out trick or treating but I got dressed up and stayed in where it was warm. My waistcoat says Teething Terror, s`pose that`s cos I don`t have any gnashers yet, but mum says they must be on the way cos I`m grumpy.
    Love from little J.

Finally managed to get this on, brain wasn`t up to dealing with techy stuff for the past few days, but better late than never.

Been sitting in front of the fire tonight finishing a curly scarf and two wee purses. Started a snowman tea cosy too, not sure if it will be a C.........pressie for DD1 or might keep it - or might donate to school.
Have to get pics of Pudsey and his pal Blush before they go off to nursery with little J and mum for Children in Need day. Keep forgetting to buy a new battery for my camera and have to get her to take the pics for me - doh !!

Off to bed with the hottie tonight, it`s bloomin` cold here and apparently snow is forecast for Monday  That I can certainly do without........

Hi psso, yes, I'm still up. Gorgeous little fellow, give him a hug from me. Please don't mention the S word, unless it's spring.
