Well safely home but we are just having quiet chilling time as I don't think the lovely couple have too many visitors which results in them literally talking non stop from arrival to departure!!
Making the fingerless gloves for a few presents at the moment-- I think they are brilliant--- a little bit different and very quick

Evening all,
Been a funny old day today, been all over the place.
Popped in to see Mum this morning, she's not too well at the mo, her eating is getting better but she has an ulcer on her leg now and it looks as though she has another one coming, poor old thing.
The district nurse came to put a new dressing on, just as we were leaving, so at least she is having the right treatment for it.

Thanks for all the concerns about the situation over here. Right up until this week, the strikes weren't having an impact in my part of France. In fact, when they kept saying on the news that France was 'paralysed by strikes', we kept saying 'well, not this part of France!', but, now that the fuel is running short, it's definitely having an effect. Luckily, we were able to get stocked up with things before the pumps ran dry here, but I feel sorry for those with children to get to school and so on. Half term starts soon, which will help, and we've already talked with the neighbours and arranged to go shopping together in one car to save on fuel. Hopefully, between us, we can ride it out.
Willow, I've just looked at your sig. Martin Lewis says that there's no such thing as a stupid question, so ask away! We were all new to this site once and it does take a bit of time to navigate around it!
Well, the woolly stuff is really taking a bit of a back seat here these days, mainly because of the work going on in the kitchen, and the major clearing-up session each day before I can get the dinner going and so on! It makes for a long day. DH should get the plastering done over the next few days, then the tiling, and then we can paint - there's a tiny chink of light at the end of this very long tunnel!
Well, the kettle is playing my tune so I'm off for another cuppa!
Hope you all have a good day.
