Good morning to you all -- Woke up with thoughts of May and Shelley's Mum-- very gentle thoughts to all struggling at the moment. After having a long day all on my own determined to break the back of the list of unfinished bits and pieces I really got somewhere.
Copied the kids and stayed in my P.J's til after 2.00!!! Just eating cheeses sandwiches as I worked I could hear my mothers disapproval in my head the whole morning but I kept at it. I seemed to trail bits of wool, needles, felt, stuffing and cotton everywhere in the house .So its a big tidy up this morning!!!! Ready for OH to arrive home.

Just had a text for Briony and she is in Byron Bay watching whales from a viewpoint -- what a lovely start to my ,morning to imagine her doing that.

Well shan't get so much done today as the ironing is not only shouting but swearing at me and Dmil is coming for a roast chicken tea-- so well back in harness after yesterdays freedom :(

Will pop back later but hope you have some sunshine in your back yard.
Try and do a good deed every day.

Hi everyone. I echo what Chalky has said and my thoughts are with Maytaurus and Shelley's mum this morning. I hope they are both having the best day possible.

It's been a really cold start here this morning but the sun is up and about so everything is starting to warm up. I still can't get used to how it can start off really cold yet be in the mid twenties by lunchtime - I don't think I'll need to put my summer clothes away for months yet!

Today, DH is plasterboarding an extra bit of wall he's created in the new kitchen. He had run out of plasterboard and the shops are closed today so he can't go out and buy any, but he's managing to find enough bits to complete the job, so a real MSE exercise today!

We took a break and had coffee with friends yesterday, an Australian couple who live in one of our favourite villages nearby. They want some work done on their house and it looks as if DH will get the job, hopefully. I could do with a break from the work in this house! The couple are going to Australia for two months in December, so they want the work done before then. Their house is lovely - about the same age as ours but it was in better condition than ours when they bought it!

DS2 Skyped last night. Summer is looking even more beautiful than ever, and chatting away all the time. DIL2 is about four months pregnant now and looking very well. It's so lovely to see them on Skype - almost as good as being there with them, but not quite!

Chalky - Briony sounds like she's having a wonderful time. You must be as thankful as I am for all the different ways of keeping in touch these days, no matter how far away your loved ones are.

Well, I'd better go and do something useful, I suppose.
