    morning everyone

woke up early this morning and am ready to tackle the day. i have been at the dining room table since 7am making lists of things to do over the next 2 weeks.

F1 - i am such an airhead that if i dont write it down, i wont remember it 5 minutes later. therefore - THE LISTS. i love them and i love crossing things off them as it gives me a sense of achievement.

Jean - i was looking for a plastic winder one - i have been told they are easy to pick up in second hand shops (i think that they are only in the second hand shops in fairyland as i have never seen one in london).

kathy - good luck with dealing with all the deliveries - i find the attitude shocking, but then again, c'est la vie! perhaps we should try to get used to it and when we are told that we have not paid something - we should be able to say - with a gallic shrug - but i put it in the post. we have just received a final demand from our local (french) tax office for last years tax for someone who used to live in our village who has the same surname as my hubby. i have sent the letter back 3 times telling them that she has moved, but they keep sending it back to us - strange!

As i am "working" today i will have a curtailed crochet session - however - the place where i am working is 1.5hrs away on public transport ... therefore crochet will come with me. yes! Oh well, off to make a dozen or so phone calls and do allsorts.

    have a fab day everyone.

Hello to one and all and lots of gentle thoughts to all the lovely "friends" here who have their hands full at the moment.

I am just popping on for 2 secs as "The Mopping" is my next job and as Doh is hard at it I had better get on!!!

So the Sunshine Bus is packed. We are packed. Bed is up in the bus. It always makes me smile as it is like travelling like a tortoise-- us in the front and the house behind!! We leave early tomorrow and knowing DOH it will be early!!

Of course lots of hooky stuff to keep me occupied as we travel on!!

So now we have a last bit of socialising and goodbyes and then I think I shall be offline until 1st of July!!

So take care everyone and don't chatter too much or else I will have hours of catching up to do!!
Try and do a good deed every day.

    Hi Everyone,

Oh Chalky what will we do without you? Have a fun and safe journey now.x

Mioliere What a day you had yesterday, I hope you get your parcel soon.

May Thank you for the link, you are an angel.

Thank you for your kind words ISOM, I'm my own worst enemy really, DH is always telling me off for worrying about things I can't do anything about. Ds2 will be starting his last year of infants this september but I'm already worrying about him starting juniors the following september, which is totally irrational I know! I hope you get your cats re-homed soon, cakes sound delicious just as well I'm too far away wouldn't do me diet any good.lol!

Quiet day planned here today, I've been knitting dinosaurs for ds1's birthday in a couple of weeks, so I think I'll do a few more of them.

    ((hugs)) for everyone.x

morning all - hope that you are all well.

have a fab journey chalky - it sounds like fun, so please go carefully.

not much happening here on the crochet front, but did order my spinning wheel as i will need to take this to france with me next week in the car. OH is getting a little worried as i have so much stuff to fit into my little nissan micra (and the wool that i ordered from kemps has not arrived yet - it was my biggest order to date - not sure how i am going to hide it from him or squeeze it in the car!).

    have a great day all.

Hi everyone - hope you are all having a good day.

Well, half our order arrived in the form of one damaged bag which had been cobbled together at the delivery depot in Poitiers. The other parcel is still missing and being looked for. I have already emailed the company concerned to see what they are going to do about the service we have received. Needless to say, we are not very happy with them.

We have a tree surgeon booked for later on today for the willow that has cracked at the trunk high up - the bit that fell off is forked and has hooked onto another branch. In the night, it slipped further down the branch and the remaining bit of trunk is swaying dangerously in the wind. It looks quite scary if you're standing beneath it - which I won't do any more! I've taken photos and will post them a bit later on, plus I will take more when the tree surgeon has dealt with it.

On the really exciting plus side - and this is the best news of all - you all know that Chalky is on her way back to the UK from Spain, don't you? Well, a couple of weeks ago she said which route they would be taking and, as it happens, they go past our part of France! So, she and her husband are coming to see us this Sunday AND staying the night! We are so looking forward to it, although a bit nervous. As she said herself, it's a bit like a first date! I hope she likes us and our bit of France! Anyway, the excitement - and nerves - will be building as Sunday approaches. It will be my first 'meet up' with someone from MSE, although Jean and I have shared many a telephone conversation since I moved here.

I have started another square for Chalky (luckily, I now won't have to post them to her - she can collect them when she's here, as long as I remember to give them to her!) so I will see how many I can get done by Sunday.

Anyway, will post tree photos later.

    Have a great day, everyone.

oh kathy - how lovely to be meeting up with chalky. i bet that you are both excited and nervous. what great fun. i think i would love to have a knitting retreat, and was sitting here this morning wondering how i could make it possible, not sure that i could, but do know that it would be such fun to have loads of like-minded people around me. OH may go nuts, but what the heck.

have a lovely day and i will be thinking of you on sunday.
