Hi, everyone. I hope you are all well and that you all had a great Easter. We spent ours in the south of France on what was supposed to be a two week stay with BIL while he and DH did some work on someone's house. BIL's domestic situation sort of took over and, while the work was eventually completed, we ended up staying for three and a half weeks. The internet was flaky, we had no phone, and had to stay in the holiday home from hell so, I am very very glad to get back to our part of France. Even the journey back was a nightmare, taking about four hours longer than it should have done, due to diversions and other hold-ups.

Mrs Moneypenny - I see you are still waiting! One of mine was a week late (but I didn't mind because he arrived on my birthday!), and the other one was almost a month early, so there's no telling - it's up to the baby in the end, usually. Good luck to the whole family, and especially to the mum-to-be.

Chalky - no doubt you are enjoying lots of cuddles with the lovely William! I hope you are having a great time.

I have some more squares for Sam's blanket, so will post them when you are back.

Sam is doing very well right now. He is in the 'lighter' phase of treatment, which will last eight weeks at a time, with more intense phases in between. The lighter phases are to ensure he recovers enough to enjoy life, and he seems to be doing just that. My DIL2 messaged me to say that both families got together over Easter, and that Sam looked really good. I had a lump in my throat at missing the get-together but, more importantly, knowing that Sam is doing well. We hope to go back next month, providing he is well enough to see us, and that we are also well and don't bring any infections over with us.

I hope you are all having some good weather; it's been lovely here since we got back. Not quite as warm as the south, especially at night and in the early mornings, but lovey and sunny.

I will try and get the update done today or tomorrow. I gave up all attempts while we were away because the internet was such a problem.

    Take care, all of you.

Thank you for the update about Sam kathy, I'm so glad to read it is good news and he is doing so well.
Sorry to hear you've not been having a brilliant time glad you are back in your bit of France complete with phones and Internet.

I hope everyone is well and managing to enjoy the good weather.
Spent most of the afternoon with DD2 yesterday as DS2 had an orthodontist appt in her twon so we merged them two and paid a visit. If nothing has happened by the weekend an induction will be started so I'm hoping that things happen before then so she can get the home birth she is hoping for, but the main thing is that both DD and the baby are safe and well

Have done the front and back of knitted dress and am now working on sleeves

    Have a good day all

The weather here is fab, enjoying pottering in the garden, drying washing on the line and planting seeds. Off to pick Dgs up later for his usual night over, cant wait to see him. He is growing so fast and since the toilet training has come on fast ( now he isnt thinking about not poohing all the time!)

Just ordered some felt letters to make Gin and Pickle bunting for my craft fair in July.

MrsMp hope all goes naturally before the induction date xx

Lots of love to one and all
Kathyso good to hear about Sam. I know it will be so great for you to know he is progressing as well as he can. I hope your trip happens just as planned. Love to you both.

Ginnysuch happy times. So glad for you. It sounds as if Gs is doing really well.

mrs Moneypennyeverything crossed for a timely arrival.

Well DS and DDIL have gone out for the evening and so far so good. Followed instructions to letter and he is tucked up in bed after 2 VERY long stories and his cuddliest all arranged and so far no calling out. We have worn him out with swimming and bike riding so should be shattered.

    Love to one and all.
Try and do a good deed every day.

Hi, everyone, and thanks for your kind thoughts about Sam.

Mrs Moneypennny - you must be on tenterhooks waiting for the baby. I hope she can have the home birth she wants but, as you say, the important thing is that both she and the baby are safe and well.

Ginnyknit - have a great time with DGS. How is your OH? I hope he is doing well.

Chalky - I bet you loved babysitting!

Well, the weather here is fantastic today and I have no washing to put on the line, so it feels like a waste of a good drying day!

I had a lovely Skype call with my youngest and his family yesterday. I can hardly believe that my youngest grandchild starts school in September; where on earth does the time go? She's so grown up now. Her sister has her first wobbly tooth, which she is really excited about! They had been to see Sam and family at the weekend, and they said Sam gets frustrated because of the things he can't do now, like play rugby and cricket. It makes me feel so sad to think that his life is restricted because he is normally so active. He said that most of the time he is OK, but I know he'll be missing his sport, especially now that the weather is good. We all know it will be worth it in the long run, but I can just imagine his frustration, bless him. I think we all just want this next three years to be done and dusted.

Well, I have my four more squares ready to send to Chalky when she's back, and I have done some preemie hats (which I will donate when we go back to the UK in May), and I've done a poncho for my youngest granddaughter, and have enough wool left to make a matching one for her sister - they have to have everything matching!

I hope you all have a great day!

Just had a phone call from the hospital. Mum and baby are both fine but half way through the home birth they were transfered to the hospital my new not so little DGS was born just before midnight weighing 9lb 9oz!!! No wonder he was difficult to push out.
Think I need to find some bigger patterns to knit up.

Thank you all for your good wishes, I've been on pins all night as I knew she's gone into labour yesterday when I rang but I couldn't get hold of them this morning so was getting worried.

Thank you, I was getting so twitchy when I couldn't get hold of anyone this morning and no one had rung overnight. Still he's here now and they are both well. I'm waiting to find out if they are keeping her in overnight (a bloodtest result is needed) or if she's going home. Can't wait to visit them.
