afternoon all .....
well what a miserable day - hubby son and I were all nominated to do the "ice bucket challenge", which we accepted - very mad - Im fed up of being boring, hiding away and never doing any of these things so joined in happily with this one
Loving the book folding too - Jean has me misbehaving nicely over on FB! I too would not part with my books, but for the one occasion I sacrificed a book that DS wanted to part with and now I have it to "keep" so to speak - I now have a couple of requests for one so "Father christmas" will be busy ..... I have had a request for a certain book for one i.e. a love story so am busy looking on Ebay for a cheepie love classic.
Also if you have been over to chalkys blog in the last few days,
http://chalkygilbert.blogspot.co.uk/2014/08/day-one.html
she has made a post about a lovely wonderful lady who makes one dress a day for children in Africa wanting to make I think 1000 by the time she is 100 next May I think she is already on 800 and something - chalky also mentions doing one good thing a day so today with my thirst for wanting to learn so many new things and admiring chalky's one item per day Ive managed my first crocheted baby preemie hat - ta da !!!!!!!!!!!
Another lovely lady called Linda (some may know her as Lyndy or from her blog http://lindacraftycorner.blogspot.co.uk) posted recently about Hand in Hand for Syria and I noticed they are now appealing for preemie items too so hopefully my first hat will be winging its way to them along with other items that I make

I will pop back and put photos of book art and preemie hat shortly.
Hope you are all well and tucked up at home warm its starting to feel really autumnal - hugs all xxxDebt Diary: Im not going to be an Ostrich anymore -LBM - 16/1/12 /0 -

Hi everyone.
First, as promised days ago, here is the latest update https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AhOgVamMPLdkdDREdE9nS2pPYTRlcFQ3Ujc5ekNKamc&usp=drive_web#gid=0
Dibuzz - are your lovely items for charity? Let me know and I will add them to the total.
I hope you are all keeping well.
Pippa - hope your mum continues to recover.
Kboss - that is a stunning quilt!
F1 - well done to you for doing the ice bucket challenge. I have been nominated but have not been brave enough yet, mainly because it's not very summery here. I may wait and do it when I go to the south of France next month, hopefully! My DGS (14yo) has done it, and so has my youngest son; they are the only ones in my family to have plucked up the courage so far. It's for a fantastic cause; I know the Macmillan nurses made such a difference to my DBIL last year in his final months, and were a great support to my sister, too.
Jean - I will check out GrandFrais in the south of France. Here, my nearest one is in Cholet, which is a bit too far, but thanks for the link!
I'm loving all the book folding but have not tried it yet. I have so many things whirring around inside my head at the moment, and I am still trying to think of something to make for my mum for her birthday next month. I don't want to clutter her room up with ornaments now that she is limited by space, and I want to make something personal, just for her, so I've been scouring Pinterest for inspiration. I have just finished a teddy for a local charity, and he will be on his way tomorrow, and I am also making myself some handwarmers; we've had a couple of really cold mornings lately, and it's made me think about the winter already!
Anyway, must go and think about lunch. DH is working this week, so at least I am getting some uninterrupted time!

Just finished Ds's wreath for his blessing party, made with vegas and Usa maps sent by dear friends, playing cards from Imperial palace and poker chips. As I was making it I wasnt sure if I liked it but when it was finished it looked better.Clearing the junk to travel light
