    Morning
Not too bad this morning the sun seems to be trying to make an appearance

jean - am I too late for an update ?? completely forgot to do it :o shame about the lettuces but the strawberries sound delish so do the tiny 'neeps' they always taste better than the big ones...
ginny - lovely work rainbow blanket is beautiful, cute little jelly babies, hope hubby is feeling the benefit of the injections
mrs- m - glad to hear DS is on the mend
chalky - are you going over to Dubai or are they coming to you? love the lables and tags what a great idea...we never did get to Hannahs did we? never mind we will be down again so maybe then we can arrange something x
psso - glad you are feeling a bit better now gently does it :)
ptb - nice to see you back :)... I loved our caravan but OH wasn't so keen, we didn't tour with it we had it on a seasonal pitch on a site in Devon, the only place I seem to be able to relax, enjoy your new one and I hope the other sells quickly

I was doing some knitting last night and it has started my achey hands off again, I will swap back to crochet again for a bit and let them settle down again

Off out in a little while so I better go get ready, can't seem to summon up enthusiasm for much lately.
Love and hugs to you all Anne xx

Glandular fever - the kissing disease they used to call it.
My oldest daughter had it many years ago. It really knocked her for six, permanently tired and slept for weeks. She was off work for a couple of months if I remember rightly. Hope your lad doesn't overdo things and make himself worse.

Jean, I like the wee white 'nippy' neeps too, especially in chunks through the mince with carrots. Yummy yum yum. Tunnel looking good.

Ginnyknit, hope you have more success with your apples than my dear Jim did.
He bought 2 Apples and 1 pear tree when I was in hospital eight years ago and planted them in large tubs- they were ballerina trees. There is blossom comes on but nary a sign of fruit. I've no idea of the variety so don't know if / when they should be pruned. Wish he'd left me the 'destructions'.

Hedgehogs are taking over the workbag again, so looks like normal service is being resumed, thank goodness.

Haven't decided what the next project will be yet so hedgies, hats and anything else small will be foremost in the meantime.

Off to have a cuppa, not hungry right now so will eat later.

  • Me and the nippy neeps - I dinnae like them cooked............jist raw. I used to "help ma'sell" frae anybodies garden when I was wee - well nothing changed there then! I like the big tumshies as well - again not cooked although I suffer them wi the haggis -just a wee bit of nutmeg on them mashed up.....erm best I search out some seeds for them next.

CHALKY- was the curley purple explosion of a hedgie OK...... I came across the rest of the ball yesterday and popped it aside - just in case I could be using it up as hedgies - please let me know I could at least then get shot of it!

I have carefully put away the lovely rainbow knit in lace - blowed if I have come across it just yet - but I will keep looking, it's only a matter of time till it crops up and bites me in the face.

Rained off and on all day so I have been doing complete computer back ups to external hard drive - managed two lap dogs done and am now on the main desk top.............. all because DS has warned me that he will be building us a new desk top during his stay in July - about bloomin time too - it sounds like Concorde taking off - its only missing the boom as it goes out through the sound barrier (how I miss that - I always knew it was tea time when it boomed going off to the USA).
Having a quiet evening with the white baby blanket I am now onto the 3rd 100grm ball of yarn (and I do believe it WILL be the final) and so looking forward to some CROCHET for a wee change!
Loads of love and cuddles to you all

Horrid here again wet and soggy ...

I have been feeling a bit down in the dumps at times over the last couple of days ...no specific reason and today I thought I better get myself sorted so started going round doing things sort of half-heartedly but at least something has been swept, hoovered and washed and get this "I even did the ironing"...
I just don't know what's wrong...can't even get outside and try and lose myself in gardening it's raining so hard... love my garden but I am a fair weather gardener cant stand the cold and wet it starts my arthiritis off...

mrs-m - my DS2 had Glandular Fever when he was about 20 it did take a some time to get over it and there was no way he could have gone to work the way he kept dropping off. I hope your DS takes it easy because it really takes it out of them

Found 2 balls of dishcloth cotton yesterday ...hmmm what to do with it !!!

off to make a coffee might even try a splash of brandy in it for medicinal purposes only you understand and perhaps it will give my mood a swift kickstart

    Love to all Anne xx

I sure am a misery today sorry :o

Pippa, sorry to hear you are feeling down today. Rain doesn't help at all. Hmm, things must be REALLY bad for you to be doing the ironing, that really is a bit desperate.

I think you really need to spend some time surfing for a nice pattern to use up that cotton and you should have a cuppa and some maltesers to keep your energy levels up. Hope you feel a bit brighter tomorrow.

Bit showery here as well today, so I'm sitting here crocheting squares. I started using a 200g ball of random pastel the day I went into hospital and have finally got round to doing them again. Not sure if there's enough for a blanket, might have to go and buy another ball ......what a chore.

Have a bag with green, orange and cream sitting in the bedroom and it keeps whispering at me. Can't get to sleep properly for the constant noise so I'll either have to use it or hide it away in the cupboard to keep it quiet.

    Back later.

    Hi everyone!

I am invitiing Ladies on MSE to join in the fun and make some Butterflies for the 'SIBOL' project. As you know we are still making 'Sunshine Blankets' and Shawls for the Elderly and we desperately need to replenish our stock of Butterflies. We use them to decorate our Blankets but I have also been invited to do a talk in July at a local Church Knitting Group and I thought it would be nice to take a long a Basket of Butterflies to hand out to their Members. They heard about our work through one of the Homes I visited.

So why not use some of that un-wanted yarn if you have any to spare! Thank you.

We've had some beautiful Blankets arrive and these are all shown on the Blog too.

    Thanks everyone!

I know I can't do proper posh crochet squares but I can do butterflies so will see what I can come up with for you.
