My driving seems to be adequate. It's many years since my last accident (miss-spent youth and all that ;) ). How's yours?

By 'free', I was referring to the right to hold and express one's views.

I never claimed legal rectitude (if you took the trouble to read the posts properly). We are doing exactly what you say we're not, discussing opinions. Your opinion would appear to relate only to me and that's absolutely fine - we are free in that respect.

As to sad, I'm actually a reasonably cheerful chap.

But, if you're a cyclist (and respect human life) stay out of my way. Simples :)

Not all red lights are equal. There are many cases where a road user can ignore a red light if the obvious pre-requisites are carried out.

It seems I was born with the ability to debate without resorting to profanities - it only demonstrates a poor command of the English language and a low intelligence.

Neither a low intelligence nor a poor command of the English language is needed to use profanities. It is as much of a cliche as all bullies being cowards. Most are but some have quite a bit of courage.

I've never been involved in an accident of my own making, so rather better than yours.

In any case, you seem to be linking dangerous driving and accidents in a way that doesn't add up. You claim to bully and intimidate cyclists off the road. That's dangerous driving. By your own admission the only reason this behaviour hasn't resulted in an accident is the common sense of the cyclists avoiding the accident you're deliberately trying to create.

I'm sorry if you feel I was commenting on you personally, rather than on the topic at hand - but as you say, I'm free to express my opinion on whatever I want - today I chose you. My opinion on "you" was based purely on three things.

Firstly, there's your disregard for human life. I really feel that a certain fundamental appreciation of the beauty of our world is lacking in anyone that treats life cheaply. Which I think is "sad".

Secondly, there's your tendency to bully other road users. Bullies are, in my experience, small and weak personalities or "little".

Finally, your name is Harry - from which I assume you're a "man".

So, having thought about it again, I'll stick by my summation of "sad little man".

Harry Flashman is the name of a fictional bully and coward form the novels of Sir George MacDonald Fraser - based on the Bully from Tom Brown's Schooldays by Thomas Hughes.

    Very entertaining series of books.

Idiophreak, I really do have to give it to you. Thank you so much for a most entertaining post :)

I wouldn't consider myself a bully though, unless you consider cyclists forcing their way out into the middle of the road 'bullies' too (they cause motorists to fear for their paintwork).

The 'Flashman' Books are truly my all time favourite and, yes, that's where I picked the handle from :)

I think it is to use them on a public forum that can be read by anyone.

I think it is more rude, disrespectful and unimaginative. If I feel like insulting someone a picture says a thousand words.

Aimed at no one in this case.
