Red lights and cyclists
You are on a bike and stop for a red light at a pedestrian crossing. Everyone has finished crossing, there's nobody else around about to cross, and there are no side roads or any other complications to worry about. There is absolutely no real reason to not proceed, other than the red light.
Do you keep waiting, because "the law says so", or do you proceed? I'm one of those evil law breakers who proceeds. I do so (only in the entirely safe situation described) because experts say it may be safer for bikes to get ahead of and away from car traffic in this situation.
A car driver took exception to me the other day and shouted at me from his window (completely taking his concentration off the road). Who was right, me or him?

Always stop at red lights. Cyclists take enough carp on the road without giving people good reason to dole out abuse.0

Yes, please always stop. Although there are the odd times when I have jumped the red on my cycle commute(also have been known to exceed the speed limit when driving- though have never driven an untaxed or uninsured car), I recommend you keep to the law- cyclists cop enough flak from the motorist without giving them more ammunition."In times of universal deceit, telling the truth will be a revolutionary act. I always stop at red lights no matter what. Why should we be any different than motorists!0

Must admit when I used to bike to uni I had to cross about 15 red lights, and I didn't used to stop for any of them, if it was too dangerous to jump them on the road I would pop the kerb and go around that way ha-ha. Yea I know its wrong but at that time of day I would be undertaking all the coffin lodgers anyway they were going so slow!0
