Do you keep waiting, because "the law says so", or do you proceed? I'm one of those evil law breakers who proceeds. I do so (only in the entirely safe situation described) because experts say it may be safer for bikes to get ahead of and away from car traffic in this situation.

Yet another typical law breaking cyclist. You'd be the first to whinge if you went past a red light and got wiped out by a car.Must be part of this mob:

I don't think it would be crime of the century but you dont loose a huge amount by weighting for it turn green considering your already at a stop. If your moving up into the light then I'd scrub off the speed so that I still moving when the lights change.

Too much effort. The usual reason the police don't go after people :(

Wondered how long it would be before this thread went down the "all cyclists jump red lights" route. Using this logic, all motorists drive under the influence of alcohol and at excess speed in unroadworthy, untaxed and uninsured cars.

He wouldn't catch them. In London cyclists like that are far quicker than anything.

I'd love to meet a cyclist who stops for a red light...

    Im right here
I cycle for transport and fitness
so stopping at the lights gives me a breather and then a good cardio pulling away from the cars and getting up to speed
Im not one of these cyclists who pootles along the road,I push it all the way
