thats a really good and handy site, thanks !
ive never heard of that site.
thanksMy only credit: Contract phone for £25 p/m they gave me (no joke!) 3x 8gb micro sd's, 1x extra battery, 1x spare charger, SIXTY QUID CASH!, TWENTY FIVE POUND CHEQUE!, 2x 2gb micro sd's, SE Satio, 300mins, 3000txts, unlimited internet! from P4U too! :beer:0 -
Asa just to add my two pence worth, although education is good nothing is guaranteed in life, I did a self funded PhD and took loan to fund it, thinking once I finish I will have so much money to pay it off.
Luckily I found a job in my university before I finish my PhD, which helped me to pay my loan while I was studying but it was not my dream job or the salary was big enough to pay the loan, I just broke even every month.
It has been five years now, for those five years, I simply did not have a life, I lived on about £150 a month, and rest of my wage goes to pay for the debts that I accumulated thinking once I graduate I will have so much money.
I learned from that experience so much, although I do not regret my PhD, I regret not having plan B, so please do not do what many students do.
One good thing out of it, I am now very good at saving money, I lived for such a small amount before, I am so committed at saving like it is a debt I have to pay every month. I know, if I was not that strong I would have just gone to debt management or bankruptcy but I chose to fix my mess, a friend of mine went through the same debts as mine to fund her PhD she is now bankrupt.0 -

Education is very important to me, i missed alot at secondary school, so im kinda making up for it now. i know what its like to live on very little, i have for the past 8 years. i understand about debt and loans and wasnt looking for more than 2grand, thats alot, i know, but i would help a great deal, but looking at it long term, it probably isnt a great idea, but it looks bad on here because of the few members which like to make a mountain out of a mole hill.
Thanks for the advice, i will take it onboardMy only credit: Contract phone for £25 p/m they gave me (no joke!) 3x 8gb micro sd's, 1x extra battery, 1x spare charger, SIXTY QUID CASH!, TWENTY FIVE POUND CHEQUE!, 2x 2gb micro sd's, SE Satio, 300mins, 3000txts, unlimited internet! from P4U too! :beer:0 -
Asa, I know this board can be judgmental sometimes but believe me some people need reality check, and I agree with been harsh here before reality slap them in the face.0

but some are just plain rude, if i approached them in the street, they wouldnt say half the things they said.
i didnt need a reality check, i just wanted to know if there was any type of loan like the uni student one, maybe i should have just said that, would have saved alot of grief!

Reply ONEyou cant get a student loan for a 2nd year college course, you should be getting £30 a week EMA,and if you need more than that then find some work as well !!!!
That was it, there was your answer, but you weren't having any of it.
We are all unable to read or comprehend your question.......
Your replyI dont think you read the whole OP, because i need the load to fund a car so i could get to work.
And so you went on and on despite getting told the same thing over and over.

Again, you are insulting all the posters shouting they are all stupid and unable to comprehend your ramblings.0 -
OP, while I do think you'd be better off getting any kind if job you can find to earn some money, as debt should always be a last resort, wouldn't a career development loan be applicable for you?

He will not be eligible for career development loan, I took that loan and I know the criteria very well, it has to be post graduate studies or professional training, I am sure his course will not be eligible but you can try and ask, Barclays does it.
