The more info Paisley discloses about this man's actions the more worrying it has become to me.

Please write everything you have mentioned here down on a time-line and get yourself round to the Police, smartish.

As he appears to know a lot more than he should know and you believe he is quite useful with computers it is possible that he has somehow managed to put a keylogging program on your computer in order to steal password information - has he ever sent you an email with an attachment that you might have opened?

I would recommend download MalwareBytes AntiMalware, running a quick scan first and then a full scan and seeing if it finds anything. If it does, delete it and change all your passwords or (especially if you're using a laptop) you could consider using this as evidence in any police complaint you may choose to make (although obviously it might be difficult to track him as the source).

As a new user I am unable to post links but if you do a search for malwarebytes in Google the first result should be their .org website. The productis free, by the way. You only have to pay for the advanced version and you don't need that for this.

I honestly do not intend to panic you here but I came back to this thread today and with the new revelations there is something that is simply not right. I highly recommend considering going to the police.

I've just read through this thread and I think it is stalkerish and you should definitely go to the police. There is a chance that it's 'innocent' but it's still not appropriate and needs to stop

he must have access to your email account or as said already some sort of key logging software. Check your emails to see if thee are any which might give away some of the information he seems to know. In the menatime contact the police. it sounds scary to me. And a very good reason for not being on social networking sites. I hate those things.

Totally agree with what the others are saying. Surely it is better to be safe than sorry, at least by going to the police there will be a record of these things and if anything more sinister does happen they already have your original complaint to look back to.

I've just read through this (this isn't one of my usual forums!), what immediately comes to mind is the possibility of a keylogger program.

    What makes me think this?

Use of MSN. Have you ever downloaded anything from this guy? A song? A picture? A word document? Clicked on a link he sent you? MSN is notorious for terrible security in this regard, its so easy to mask keyloggers and similar in something that looks like a safe file.

A keylogger basically records every key stroke you make, and sends it to a server or email address or simply stores it on your harddrive (depending on how secure your network is it might be fairly simple to pick up). It might explain how he has access to information you gave out in an 'anonymous' setting (ie the cancer forum) or things you might have discussed over msn with closer friends (ie got my hair cut to day, or really enjoyed that bbq at your house on sunday etc).

If you haven't already, please get your virus and malware protection up to date and run a full scan on your computer (might take a few hours).

Need to think about 2 aspects of this
    • Actions
    • Motivation
On Actions, it has gone too far

On motivations, it could be dangerous sexual stalking or it could be someone with Asperger's trying to impress in a misguided way. On the next contact, maybe ask him how he got certain pieces of information - eg the short hair.

If he tells you, proudly even, you can perhaps relax a little bit and just make it totally plain that you find it unacceptable and that it must stop. Probably best to be assertive about what is not acceptable - but not to cut all lines of contact, because you are better off knowing where he is and what he is up to.

If he does not want to reveal this info, then you should worry and hand the matter to 3rd parties.

I was thinking this as I read through it. If the person is observing the OP he will be reading all of this.
