Hi choogirl.. Nestle carnation milk recipe...I recommend it! And I guess the raspberries could count as 1 of your 5 a day!! ;-)

Thanks brizzledfw - I will be trying those, I love raspberries and wouldn't feel too naughty if I convinced myself they were 1 of my 5 a day x

I always worry when I'm running on fumes, my friend has actually broken down that way before (same sort of situation as us lot, have told her about the site but I don't think she's too keen).

When you have made the cheese scones, send some my way, I love 'em!

Jelly moulds? Gosh you are posh! We're currently using plastic cups and cling film. The DDs take it in turns to fight over who gets to make the jelly, the more garishly coloured the better. Have even managed to make stripy jelly by pouring layers of two different jellies into the cups. Also add fruit to make it a bit more interesting. Using value jelly this works out at 3p a portion.

The DDs are the ones eating the contents of the lunch boxes so they get to decide what goes in them, they're a lot more adventurous than you'd expect. Left over pasta and potato in mayo goes down well with chopped up bits of the night befores meat. We also use whatever interesting whoopsied bread is available so the DDs have pitta breads, deli wraps, chappatis and pretty much anything else.

Sunday night is baking night and they make an array of cakes and biscuits. Tis their lunch after all.

DD2s best friend takes sushi in for lunch everyday. Hot chocolate in a flask always goes down well as does hot tinned sphaghetti.

Your kids have such busy lives, it's so lovely to hear. I was like that growing up and I want the same for DS (although I will obv never force him to do anything).

  • Well done survey queen, toluna always either screen me out, after what seems like an age of answering questions or have had their quota before i get a chance to take them!

Well done on the cheese too, i love cheese as does the pup, i'm sure you'll make the most of it as even the chat about the children's lunchboxes has me hungry!

  • Hi yes Kat my kids are really social (don't get it from me i'm a bit of a hermit) i never force them to do anything, they just love going and doing stuff, dd made me laugh the other day she was waffling on about spreadsheets and microsoft office, i kinda looked at her and said where did you learn about those she replied at computer club, i said you don't go to a computer club, she said yes i do mum on a Thursday lunchtime, hadn't even told me just filled the form out herself and toddled along:rotfl:.

Been a nsd:D and have been thinking of the things i have done today to save the pennies, kids had boiled eggs for brekkie these are free from MIL chickens, boiled extra for my sandwiches for work, hung out washing instead of using dryer, guinea pigs outside in run eating grass and DD went and picke dandilions from around the garden for them, no heating on have just put a big thick cardi on instyead.
