I put £5 a week in bank for my eldest 2 - they are 13 and 12 - and £1 a week for the youngest 2 )they are 9 and3). The little ones I obviously still buy bits and pieces for as they rarely go to the shops but I buy nothing for the big ones - they have to buy clothes, magazines etc!! They are great at saving and bought all their own Christmas presents this year!!

That's exactly what my parents did for me, trying to make me sensible with money - OOPS! Problem was I didn't realise that they didn't always have everything they do now and I wanted it all now - paying for it through the teeth now.

hiya PWPS - been catching up on your diary and allowed myself a wry smile at the memory of xmas with the inlaws when I was married - it could be a political minefield at times!

Well done on standing ground re pocket money too - wish my parents had been stricter with me... :-)
  • Good morning, sorry not posted for a few days, gettng back into a routine of school/work and trying to get house straight after taking all the xmas decorations down.

Over the past few days i've paid £200 of BC, spent £9 in Tesco, spent 77p on dog chews but used a £6 off code so got loads and puppy is very happy.

Yesterday recieved an email letting me know i've won a food hamper and should recieve it by 14th Jan, woo hoo this should hopefully reduce this months grocery spend.

Right off to make lunch boxes and get kiddies ready for school.
  • Well hamper has been delivered and its a lovely Marks and spencers one, has some lovely treats of choccies, cake, shortbread and then more everyday things such as tea bags, soup and tinned ham, will knock down the food bill slightly next week.

Spends today have been £6 for kids sports club.

Also was really good and took my lunch to work, pasta salad, christmas cake and fruit.
