I just enter any old comp, usually recieve an email from a company such as walkers crisps (that i won the hamper with )and enter.
Another NSD here, decided that as much as i want to pay debt off i still need to have a life, i don't go out much and spend very little on myself, my one love is my yearly holiday, so going to start saving for this, so i will pay £200 a month off BC and work out a budget to put into holiday fund, i know we won't be going abroad this year as have already discussed with OH and we have decided that maybe a few days camping, few days in wales with OH aunty and maybe a few days/long weekend somewhere if travel lodge have cheap rooms going, probably going to get shot down for this but i think i can justify it, hubby and i work hard and we need to have family time together, especially whilst the kids are young and still want to be seen with us:rotfl:.
Been good and taken lunch to work again and i'm going to make some soup to take tomorrow, also have some bananas that need using up so going to make some banana bread. Tea tonight is pork casserole and mash as the stewing beef turned out to be pork in the freezer:o.0 -
I think its essential for your sanity and your relationship to have a break away together - certainly not going to get shot down for that from me! So long as you can afford it and you are not adding to your debt then do it, enjoy it and come back refreshed ready to knock some readies of the cards later.
I am impressed with the home made lunches - good work!
I am laughing at the pork doing a passable impression of ste3wing beef - I always used to tease daughter for not knowing what meat is what in our freezer, until the time I made a delicious beef stew, thought it tasted a bit funny but I had a cold so put it down to that, it was only the next day when i reheated some for lunch that I realised it was lamb. They dont even look similar - let alone taste the same!0 -
Ooohhhh well done on the winning of the hamper! thats fab!!
Had a LOL at the pork instead of beef, heyho!! Hope it was nice all the same x xMummytogirls x0 -

Hi Poundwisepennystupid
I am having the same dilemma at the moment, I really want to pay my debt off as quickly as possible but also want to have a few treats as well. I am just debating summer holidays at the moment as well. We go camping but 3 nights is the most that we've done in one go. I am more of a "glamper" not a hardened camper. I even take my hair straighteners with me :rotfl:I agree though the children aren't going to want to go away with us when they're older so make the most of now. The way I see it so long as I am not adding to my debt or flying off somewhere exotic and expensive I can justify it x0 -
Ohhh well done on the hamper, sounds delicious, especially as we have no goodies in the house!
DH has now made flapjacks and sultana scones, but they are all gone.
I think you deserve a holiday, it'll give you all a break together and you won't be adding to the debt will you!
Have you looked at house swap? Just wondered about that today, not that our house is in a fit state and it probably wouldn't be relaxing in another person's house - but very MSE.

If you can get at least 2 other couples (maybe your parents, siblings of yours/OH) Bluestone in Pembrokeshire looks lush. We have just booked a cabin for 4 nights in June (all are 5*) and due to there being 3 couples to split the cost with (cost is per cabin) it's a total of £225 per couple including adventure centre passes.Loan - [STRIKE]£6991.95[/STRIKE]£6180.01; Barclays Res - [STRIKE]£600[/STRIKE] £0 - £22 per week , NWB Grad O/D - [STRIKE]£1185[/STRIKE] £887.86 18.28% SWALEC - [STRIKE]£700[/STRIKE] £0 NPOWER [STRIKE]£220[/STRIKE] £0 Kays - [STRIKE]£591.28[/STRIKE] £0 TOTAL DEBT - [STRIKE]£10,288.23[/STRIKE] £7,000.01 31.96 % Paid off. Sounds good KAT but due to working in a school can only have school holidays, which as you can imagine bumps the price up.0

Oh no! Yes it does bump the prices up (as with everywhere). You mentioned Wales to stay with your auntie, there are always holiday trip offers in our local free paper. If you let me know closer to the time you were planning to go I can keep an eye out for you and PM the details (depends where in Wales she is). There's a lot to do as long as you don't mind driving.Loan - [STRIKE]£6991.95[/STRIKE]£6180.01; Barclays Res - [STRIKE]£600[/STRIKE] £0 - £22 per week , NWB Grad O/D - [STRIKE]£1185[/STRIKE] £887.86 18.28% SWALEC - [STRIKE]£700[/STRIKE] £0 NPOWER [STRIKE]£220[/STRIKE] £0 Kays - [STRIKE]£591.28[/STRIKE] £0 TOTAL DEBT - [STRIKE]£10,288.23[/STRIKE] £7,000.01 31.96 % Paid off. Thanks KAT will keep that in mind.
Freezing cold and have already got my pj's on, DD is poorly bless her, really hot with sore throat:(.
Spent just over £7 in Boots on childrens paracetamol and ibuprofen and £5 in co-op on potatoes, bread, coleslaw and fruit juice for DD.
Tommorrow is supposed to be grocery shop day but as DD is ill and hubby is working this weekend will probably not be able to, have enough food to last the weekend, ran out of liquid handsoap today in the kitchen, went to add to shopping list then stopped myself we have a house full of little soaps from christmas, so stuck one in a little ceramic pot by the sink, if i keep doing this i won't need to buy it all year as we must have at least 20 bars of soap knocking about, anyway its a few pence saved.
Postie brought me book today that i had won, looks ok.
DS brought home lunch bill from school, £28 but had already put money aside for this in envelope:D.
Polly would love to do house swap but we are still doing up our house it was a wreck when we bought it and still isn't finished ad don't think anyone would really want to spend a holiday here.
choogirl you made me laugh, i'm not a camper at all,i like en suite bathrooms, ch and comfy beds too much but i think this year for the sake of the family i am going to have to slum it:rotfl:.0 -
Thoought I'd hate camping but I am now converted. Admittedly, we do spend a little extra to go to the 'nice' sites, have full electrics, take electric ice box, kettle, toaster and a tv!!!!! (although I do limit this to when it rains!!) Got a massive tent (bought most things second hand) and I now love camping. My only advice would be to book early as the nice sites fill up as soon as the sun comes out. Enough of my preaching, as much as I love camping - I would swap it for a week in the sunProud to be dealing with my debts, light bulb moment: 2/1/2010, reviewed 7/1/20120
