Good morning, officially christmas in the pennywise household as we have all finished at school, poor hubby is still at work.
Came home with some lovely presents from the children i work with, choccies, wine and some lovely candles, yesterday day wasn't very productive, managed to walk the dogs and go to the library, kiddies got a stack of books to see them over the next fortnight.
We watched cats and dogs last night, snuggled on the sofa with some of the choccies that i recieved from work, before the film started i let doggies out for a wee, and the ground was damp and muddy, film finished a hour and half later and DD went into kitchen and shouted that it was snowing, opened back door and there was white stuff everywhere, couldn't believe how much it had put down and there is even more this morning, now worryng about Food shopping thats being delivered on Tue, really hope it gets here.
Today i'm going to tryand paint hall wall that goes up the stairs, lots of sticky finger marks and looks a bit shabby, have paint from last time we did it, so don't need to buy any.
Aso guinea pigs need cleaning out, think i will leave baking until tommorrow.
On the money front, i have about £20 to last until 3oth which is payday, food shopping is paid for and all presents are bought and wrapped, so should be ok, recieved £3 into paypal this morning from a survey site, that can stay there until i have enough to withdraw, all extras now go to BC as christmas is sorted in this house.
I have decided that from the new year i'm keeping a log of all vouchers and money i make from surveys and ebay, money will be paid off debt and vouchers used for birthdays/ xmas and also for household things, for example could really do with a door curtain for hall door, even though its double glazed, its still cold, so i need a curtain in a neutral colour, which i will keep an eye out for on ebay and a curtain pole, which i may be able to buy if i order on a certain survey site an argos voucher instead of amazon, so need to have a list of things that are needed around the house.
Also going to try and make a fortnightly menu which we can used, but can be changed slightly if needed, or i find a bargain/whoopsie.
Keep packed lunches the same every week for the children, sandwich, HM cake, yog and fruit, weekend lunches - soup or scrambled/poached egg on toast, breakfast porridge/cereal on weekdays/sat and sunday we have a cooked breakfast, also work out exactly how much toilet roll, cleaning stuff, laundry powder i get throw a month and try and buy a months worth in one go.
Sorry lots of waffle but if i don't write it down i forget.0 -

Good morning, its bl***************dy freezing here today, snow still on the ground.
Today we have the lovely job of visiting relatives to deliver presents, rang one elderly rellie yesterday and told her, we would still be coming despite the weather, but would probably only stay an hour due to the snow/ice/sub zero temp and not knowing how long it will take to get around everyone, she got very uperty (sp) with me and told me if i was only staying that long was it worth bothering:mad:, said yes, but didn't want to be stuck in snow with 2 children and these temperatures were lethal, so anyway we are going, i will be happy and jolly and will ignore all rude remarks, its only 2 weeks since she told me i was tight with money and a bad mother because i refused to buy my daughter a pony and please don't tell me its because she is old that she is rude its not, all the family say she has always been a moocow, in fact most of the family don't bother with her because she has been so nasty over the years to people.
Yesterday i made soupand pasta bake, no baking was done, as i was lazy, DH took kiddies sledging in the afternoon, i sat on sofa with choccies and watched the 6 episodes of the Goodlife:D.
Found a notebook yesterday in DD desk drawer that had never been used, so have nabbed it, its going to live in a tin with my house keeping money and i will keep a note of spends, things i use and cheap places to buy them etc etc, have organised envelopes and written on them what they are for, have worked out a budget for January and how much money i need to take out of bank on payday.
Grocery budget for next month is £250 and a further £20 for milk man, £60 a week for groceries + £10 left over for an emergency, not sure how i will work this, will probaly leave in bank and then if i shop instore i will withdraw, but if i get a free delivery code the money is in the bank and not having to go and put money back in the bank. Not sure if any of that makes sense.0 -
OMG Pennywise, I cant believe how rude your elderly relative was to you yesterday! You have such a good heart though and deserve good things with everything you do. Hope the weathers not too bad and you can get back home soon.
Makes sense to keep some of the money in the bank for shopping deliveries if needs be.

Managed to get back around 2pm, had a quick bite of lunch, left over pasta bake from yesterday and then i cracked on painting the wall in the hall, it looks much better, just thought i would pop on here before starting tea and i'm going to then sit down and watch Harry potter, think i deserve it after day i've had.
Visiting rellies was ok and the further north we went the less snow there was, rude rellie was ok, she always is when hubby is about, funny my mum commented a while ago how she is never rude to the men in the family.0 -
Don't know why but I do find that as folk get older they just don,t care wot they say to you. No matter how rude or upsetting they just seem unable to help themselves!! Suppose it makes them feel beta? while we normally feel s**t0

hey pennies - dropping by to see how you are doing - OMG - a puppy????? Are you mad :-) Actually, I'd love one, but no way I could have one with my lifestyle - I can't even be trusted to keep houseplants alive!0
