  • Hi Mummy, white cabbage finely sliced, onion finely sliced, or chunky depends how you like it, and grated carrot, mix with mayo, little salt and loads of pepper, yummy and dead easy, tastes much better than shop stuff and really cheap to make, also keeps a couple of days in the fridge if kept in a plastic container

  • Goodluck with the coleslaw.

We are having a very unhealthy tea of sausage, egg and chips:D.

Have made 2 huge lasagne, lemon sandwich cake, fairy cakes for lunch boxes and have some dough proving as i am going to attempt to make doughnuts:eek:, never made them before so will see how i get on, also might make some scones and freeze them so they are there for the weekend. Can't make flapjack as i have run out of syrup and forgot to buy it yesterday. My baking cupboard is starting to look really bare, think its going to have to be restocked next week when i get paid, but it has been a real life saver this month.
  • HI all
Doughnuts where a disaster and tasted awful, really yeasty:(.

Came home to additions bill with 0 balance:D, i know i paid it off with halifax but it feels good to know i'm not paying the huge interest that they charge. Also a £10 voucher for Sainsbury from maximiles, think i will put this away and not use it, i then have it if i need to do an emergency shop or it can go towards christmas.

Oh dear to the donuts but heyho at least you tried!!

Bet it felt fantastic opening the additions bill that popped through the post today. I am also going to put away my vouchers in a tin for Christmas. Am currently waiting on a Love to Shop one and they are accepted in loads of shops which is good.

  • Hi

I ordered a £5 boots voucher last night from IPSOS, thinking i should order more Boots ones as i can either use them for toiletries/sanitary products or use at christmas in there 3 for 2 offer.

Today i have to go to work, pack DD bag as she is having a sleepover at her friends and just do general housework so i have a tidy house for the weekend.

Sounds like your good news keeps coming - a nil bill (love those!) and some vouchers. I think they are a fab way to save for Christmas and the like and not notice it, plus Boots advantage points and the tesco deals.

    Have a good day
Trying to do one positive thing (however how small) per day to be mortgage free/reduced and be frugal but still enjoy life!
    Debt LBM Feb 2010 = £7841.97/ now £0, MFW 2011 = £9k in savings
MFW target 2012 to save £11,000 for Over Payments/fill ISA's and reduce lots of things - outgoings, alcohol, waste, weight
  • Yeah things r going ok at the moment, could do with a huge sum of money coming my way that really would make everything good.

Nothing of interest today, postie only brought me junk mail.
Have been to work this morning and did recieve a lovely bunch of flowers from one of the teachers, for helping her out, i was really touched, as i hadn't really done much, but at least i know i'm appreciated at work, its a shame my hubby and kids don't.

Ds was a complete nightmare last night, ok he was a bit tired, but he really is testing me at the moment, he created from the minute he came in from school because we were having lasagne for tea:(, i said to him you like lasagne, you have eaten it since you where tiny, he continued whinging and groaning, served it at teatime he was still moaning and carrying on, told him to sit at the table, which he did after some huffing and puffing and then purposely knocked his plate to the floor, could have killed him, with that hubby put him to bed.
with dd away this weekend going to spend some quality time with him.

OMG pennywise I was just coming to post in my own diary about DD. She is really testing my patience today, I really dont know what has got into her just recently. She starts school in Sept and I really think she needs it now.

We seem to be having trouble with breakfast times with her at the mo. I think she thinks we will cave in and give her something else but we dont. Blooming kids!!!

    Enjoy your weekend x

  • Thanks mummy, sometimes you feel like your the only person going through it and everyone else has perfect children. I used to work with pre school children and always found that they became harder work at this time of year, basically they are ready for school and need that little bit more that school gives them. So i would say from experience its quite normal.
I get so frustrated at time because i work in a primary school with children with behavioural/emotional problems etc and have no end of patience with them and can sit and talk calmly and rationally, but my own are another story.

He seems to be in a brighter mood, he won a football match so thats pleased him, to be honest i think he is ready for the holidays and is just tired of everything, school etc and just needs a break, also everything relaxes a bit more once summer hols come, they can stay out later playing with there friends, we live in a quiet cul de sac, so all the kids here play outside, everyone watches/feeds each others kids etc and its great for them.
