Free bluray player with HD tv at tescos

How annoying, I've got to buy two Jobsworth hats now.
Yawn you are rather tedious.
Tesco employees cannot be expected to know and explain every potentially beneficial offers to customers.
If the OP had wanted their bluray player at point of sale they would have got it. They only found out later.
Amazing how many people fail to research such large purchases then expect people to give refunds etc0 -

You are pretty dull yourself.

My complaint is that today we went to our local tesco home store in Telford looking for a blu ray player to go with the 40inch Samsung HD TV we bought last week. We noticed a sign with the samsung blu ray players offering the player free when purchased with any samsung 40 inch HD tv! When I questioned staff about this they said the offer expired on the 31st may. Scening as we brought our tv the week before I asked why we were not given this offer worth £160.00! tescos are saying that because the offer has expired there is nothing they could do even though I have a full receipt for the tv purchase. Does anyone know my rights? I have kept the tesco label advertising the free blu ray player also to help my case.
So you didn't want a blu ray player last week, but now that you've noticed the expired offer you want Tesco to give you the player for free? Get real, you are entitled to nothing. It's up to YOU to take them up on an offer.0 -

I would say the the Tesco staff were negligent in not supplying the player at the time, the OP would have talked to someone from the electrical department who should be fully aware of their offers.
This forum seems to delight in kicking people when they are down rather than help them, very weird.0 -

There appears to be no point to your posts on this topic as you have offered no advice of any worth...
I'd say you are the one not offering advice, you just want to delight in peoples misfortune.0 -
To th OP, Tesco might offer you the blu-ray as a gesture of goodwill so it is worth asking customer services and try your luck, but as for being required to give it, I doubt it.
look at it this way, if you had brought a pack of ham that was on offer at 2 for 1 but you only wanted 1 pack would you expect Tescos to give a second free pack a week later because you have now decided you want another pack?Always get a Qualified opinion - My qualifications are that I am OLD and GRUMPY:p:p0 -

How where they neglient
Firstly you cant expect tesco staff to know every offer, secondly they dont need to tell customers of offers they dont notice, furthermore the bit about electricals is an assumption, many tescos don't have dedicated electrical departments.
There is no kicking the OP when they where down, they bought a TV and got a TV. Just because they have noticed an expired offer they missed doesnt mean they have a right to demand tesco give them a bluray player.
Maybe they should have researched their expensive purchase properly in the first place. Proper research in advance is the consumers right after all unlike being given a bluray player they have no right too.0 -

Then you are clearly ignorant in consumer law.
The OP offered to buy the TV without the Blu-Ray player, which Tesco accepted. Can I make that any simpler for you?Thinking critically since 1996....0 -

You could start by trying not to be so rude.
The OP was not made aware and did not see the offer, why would you try so hard to see her cheated.0
