Dove deodorant spray - wiba only if on offer. I bought for £1 in Boots but then seen them for about £3 in sainsbugs - £3 for a deodorant! Nice fresh smells but really important you shake well otherwise it's the equivalent of using spray foam...

    [snipped]

Felt much more in control with these purchases. Much more, right what do I need/like to use and what is a good bargain?

I think there might be a few people finishing the Dove deo's about now, as I'm betting quite a few people on this thread took advantage of the glitch - I did it in Boots, and then also had a UU this weekend!

There were actually a few UUs, so here goes:
    • Dove Go Fresh spray deodorant. WIBA? No - nice, and i liked the smell (think it was the one with cucumber in), but not the most effective ever, and overpriced at normal price.
    • Mum roll on deo. WIBA? No - been desperate to use this up for ages! I bought it as an emergency on holiday as the one i had with me ran out. I'm not a fan of roll-ons, and this didn't seem to do much anyway.
    • Lancome Bi-Facil eye make up remover. WIBA? Yes! I'm devastated this has finally run out, it's the best eye makeup remover I've ever ever used, and it's lasted forever - you only need a tiny bit :( It's not cheap though, and I do think I should try something else (see below) though I can see lots of sample sized ones on sale on eBay quite cheaply, which would still last ages, so that might be an option...
    • The White company Hand and Body lotion 30ml. WIBA? Maybe - this was a hotel freebie. I tried it on one leg one evening (that's all there was enough for!), with another freebie on another, and it was actually really nice, and much better than the other. Not quite as good as BS body butters though, and I'm not a huge fan of lotions, but it was nice (and lovely smell)...
    • L'oreal coleur expert kit. WIBA? Yes - if on offer. I'll normally buy whatever hair dye is on offer, I'm not a fan of any one brand generally, but I do love this. I just refuse to pay the normal £10 price tag! I love my hair colour now - just perfect :D
    • ACT spot stick. WIBA? No - I don't even know how old this is! Not sure it ever did anything.
    • Superdrug Tea Tree Oil. WIBA? Yes - useful, and a little jar lasts ages. Nice dinky size too :p
So I also did some shopping at the weekend - first proper toiletry shop this year! And it was actually pretty good... I went to TK Maxx to find the Tigi conditioner I love, but they didn't have it :( So went to Boots and superdrug and got the following:
    • L'oreal coleur expert kit x 2. I love this (as above) but don't normally buy it, as I refuse to spend more than £5 on hair dye (and it's not something I stash) but Boots were selling 2 for £10, brilliant! 1 was used immediately, and I have lovely hair now
    • Botanics 3 minute deep conditioning hair mask. Bought this as I'm almost out of conditioner, and it'll take a while to get the Tigi stuff delivered. I know I used to love it years ago, and wanted to try it again anyway before committing fully to the Tigi stuff. USed it last night, and it's definitely better than any other conditioner/mask I've been using recently other than the Tigi stuff. So a success, but Tigi is still better ;)
    • Toni & Guy Protein Mist x 2 and Toni & Guy Platinum Blonde shampoo. These were on 3 for 2, so there is a little bit of stashing going on... But, the shampoo is still the only thing I've found that removes brassiness from my hair - though I'll probs only need it once a week i think. And once I've finshed my John Frieda spray, I'm def going back to the Protein mists, so I decided I should get things while on offer...
    • Sperdrug simply pure gentle eye makeup remover. An effort to find a cheaper alternative to Bi-Facil. This is surprisingly good at £1.49 - gentle and cooling, but not quite as effective. It'll do for now though.
Phew - it feels like it was a busy weekend! As I'm at the point of actually having to spend again, I'm going to change my signature, but I'm still sticking with my savings challenge to keep myself in check. And I've now used 92 items in total since starting this challenge in Jan  Admittedly about 1/4 of those were sample size :p

I have to admit as well, it was really nice to be able to walk into Boots and Superdrug knowing exactly what I wanted, and not randomly browsing through aisles, dithering over various brands etc :T

Oops - just got the monthly Latest in Beauty offers and then remembered I'm not allowed to spend on toiletries this month! Ah well, it was only £1 and it'll go on my phone bill so not really a spend... :D
    My debt free diary | Post Office loan: £2131 1429.38 | Barclaycard: £4429 1988.12 | Paypal Credit £322.71 574.91 | Monzo Flex £169.03 |

I started making a list but its never ending it will take days.

I haven't even attempted a list yet, I can't even contemplate the time it would take! I do have a spreadhseet of everythign I've used up though, with rankings so I don't forget what I liked/was rubbish :D I've used 92 items apparently, reckon I've got about 200 assoted things to go. And barely a dent made in make-up! I've got 12 Barry M eye dusts, and I only use them maybe once a fortnight?! I need to use/experiment more with my make-up...

Oh! While I'm here... does anyone else have no problem shelling out for 'luxurious' brands? But thinks twice about buying the cheaper stuff? Like hotel chocolate, I'd buy some stuff from there, but would grudge buying a bar of cadburys? :o Please tell me I'm not alone :o :rotfl:

You're not alone - I don't know what it is, maybe I get more satisfaction from 'treating' myself to something more luxurious?! I mostly do it with toiletries - e.g. spending ages hunting down a cheap eye makeup remover, but woudln't even think twice about walking into House of Fraser and paying full price for the Lancome one :o
I've no issues with buying Cadbury's bars though - wish I did :rotfl:
I was up early this morning and had time to put on a face pack before my shower. I used a Montagne Jeunesse Sauna Masque Red Hot Earth one. It's a self heating therapy clay for deep pore cleansing for normal and oily skin. It does heat as you apply it and it feels really good - it would be great to use on a cold winter's night. It's done the trick of removing dead skin and deep cleansing my face. WIBA? Yes but I've got another one of these to use first plus a few others too!

Oooh, I haven't used one of those in ages, but I agree, they're great. Must remember them for when I get through all the masks I already have open :p

I love to buy designer ranges of perfume(through cheap sites of course!!!) as no way could I afford the clothes so its the nearest I can get.Same with skincare and make up but I tend to buy when its bonus time /off internet sites so I get the luxury feeling but at a more sensible price:):)I also think ranges like YSL make up is better quality as well......love their lippy(from bonus bag of course!!!)

Would it be an idea to swap the unopened stuff with your half empty stuff and put the new stuff under your bed? You'd create space a huge amount quicker this way as you have a head start.
I'm still using the dove cream deodorant DH bought as he couldn't find the stick. If I can't find the stick when it runs out, I'll buy this again. I like the smell of Dove.
Have done PYNM on my toes. I opened up a new one today for a change, the No7 Milan one. I like this but am aware that lots of you said that the No7 ones don't last. I wouldn't have bought this as I think £6odd for a nail varnish is horrifying!
I'm going to have to go to boots later as we are virtually out of toothpaste so need to go and get the fluoride free one. If it's 3 for 2 then I'll get 3.
Right, I'm off to moisturise, put my face on, clean the bathroom and check that there aren't any toothpastes in the cupboard (before I go out and buy another!).
Where's Tara? Is she still in Paris or has she given up on us?
I forgot to say that we actually took an item from the present stash the other day too for DH's friend. It was an FCUK bootbag, deo and shower gel combo. I know that he goes to the gym so when I saw it for £3.75 instead of £15 I thought it would be rude not to!

QQ... Does anyone use the Olay self heating daily wash? How do you get on with getting it out of the tube when it's no longer full? Mine is no where near empty but I'm having to screw the packaging up really hard in order to get any out. I may get the S&G body butter tub out of the recycling bin and decant because it's not pleasurable getting it out of the tube.

Phew, how about the national debt issue? I still think that Darling should have got himself over to the DFW board for some advice. I'm getting more and more cncerned though. I mean what on earth are they going to do? I'm 32 so I have grown up in a time of unrivalled spending. Everything was bought on credit. I am old enough to remember my Mum jumping out of the car and hurtling into a bank when I was small (prob about 1985) because she saw a mortgage deal advertised. I think that this was during the peak of the recession. We lived in Hemel Hempstead though so we had access to a huge market every weekend. Where I live now there are no markets. There are boot sales with meat vans, and a couple of cheese makers who also sell pies, sausage rolls and scotch eggs. That's about 15 miles away though. I kind of hope that as a nation we all start to live with a little more thought for the world around us. It would be cheaper.

Anyway, get off your lardy bum Karen and go do some work!
