Hi everyone, it's been ages since i've managed to use anything up, but in last couple of days have managed to use up;
a silver nail polish. No idea what make, I think it was part of a cheapo multi-pack.
&
Boots Vitamin E cleansing lotion wiba maybe it did the job ok.:)0 -
Another use up:
Liz Earle nourishing mask - wiba maybe. It's ok. Absorbs nicely but nothing spectacular. I think I may go back to an Elemis one I used to use, think it was a tropical fruit one.
Few splutters left:
Dove deodorant spray - wiba only if on offer. I bought for £1 in Boots but then seen them for about £3 in sainsbugs - £3 for a deodorant! Nice fresh smells but really important you shake well otherwise it's the equivalent of using spray foam...
Bought some bits today, must be the first time in ages, maybe about 3 or 4 weeks - normally I was Boots/Savers/Superdrug several times a week.
- Body Shop mango body butter. In store offer of buy 2 for £15 (normally £12.50 each). I use body butters up quite quickly so a good bargain. Something I use and need. Only have a Champneys body butter in use. So 1 in use and 2 in stash, not bad.
- Body Shop Seaweed moisturiser SPF15. Really handy size for the car. 3 for 2. So one in each car and one for everyday use.
- Soltan suntan lotion. Think we're all agreed these are an essential. BOGOF at the moment.
Felt much more in control with these purchases. Much more, right what do I need/like to use and what is a good bargain?Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

Finished the a nivea night renewal body cream. WIBA? Yes, can't go wrong for a pound! However, I am going to really enjoy using my more luxurious body creams - BS body butters, S&G butters, etc :jI was trying to explain to DH earlier that we would need to go shopping for moisturiser soon. He nodded until I said it was shopping from the stash. Most confused DH!
:rotfl:
Hubby went to Mr T last night with my hastily scribbled list. He came back with everything neatly crossed out and in the bags except for where I had written Corsadyl BOGOF
"That" he said "is not even a word, let alone an item you can buy in supermarkets across the land!"I bought two Mitchum deodorants today on special offer in Tesco. Just getting some stock in while it is cheepcheep!
Oh! While I'm here... does anyone else have no problem shelling out for 'luxurious' brands? But thinks twice about buying the cheaper stuff? Like hotel chocolate, I'd buy some stuff from there, but would grudge buying a bar of cadburys? Please tell me I'm not alone

hi everyone, thought i'd rejoin the challenge i've been doing for a good 4 years. recently i've only stock piled Dove Deodrant when it's been on offer at a quid.
I have used up some talc, and also two boxes of hair colourant that i bought a few years ago when it was reduced to clear (99p each which is a darn sight cheaper than £40 at the hairdressers).
I'm almost at the end of a Sanctuary body wash, love it but will be glad to see it go as it takes ages to come out of the bottle but i think i've sussed that it's cos the bathroom is so cold and it just won't run unless i heat it up in the shower. I'm also at the end of some cheap hair conditioner that i use when shaving instead of foam.
Haven't dared draw up a list yet, but i do know i've got two containers full and loads extra around the house so it will be an age before i need some more again, though now i'm back into home colourants it would be handy to be on the look out for a bogof or such offer as i need to use at least 2 bottles each time.0 -
Hi all, well I went into Boots today (to pick up my Sanctuary order) and was very strong and only bought what I set out to buy. They had the Sensodyne Pronamel toothpaste I like on 3 for 2, so I got them together with a Cucumber Eye Make-up remover. I had a £10 voucher, and only had to put something like 36p with it to pay. I felt very good that I hadn't come out with stuff I didn't need, and avoided looking at the reduced shelf completely! :j YAY progress!
Use ups:
A very old lip gloss from Avon, one where you had to twist the bottom of it and the gloss came out on a little brush. I have tons of glosses to use up before even thinking about buying a new one.
2 little Neutrogena body lotions (that I think came from a hotel a few years back). Wouldn't buy again, but was fine for my feet overnight.
Philosophy The Present - clear makeup/face primer. I LOVE this product and was so sad it finished. WIBA? Yes, but I am going to try Magix by Avon first, to see if its any good.
Lush Happy Pill bath bomb - another product that has suffered from being in a cupboard for too long. Hardly any scent and didn't even fizz particularly well.WIBA? Nope - Avobath and Butterball are the only ones I'd even be remotely tempted by at the moment!
Jacks - well done for posting your lists. I for one don't think lists are at all dull. I love seeing what other people have in their stashes, and although its a mammoth task to get it all down, its worth doing it. When its all there in black and white, it does kind of shock you into realising exactly what you do and don't need. So thanks to you and to everyone posting their lists! :T
OK keep motivated ladies, bye for now
Love from Candice x0 -
Hello everyone out there doing this challenge. I am going to join as my stash is now in 2 rooms of the house - i have all my beauty items on a spreadsheet and have over 1000 items to use up - like a lot of you I can't resist a bargain but need to get this under control. I am going to resist all QVC TSVs in June. One arrived Friday (Elemis TSV ordered on waitlist as adore pro collagen marine cream) but that is going to be my last for the time being. Hopefully joining this post will help me stay strong and use up my stash! :eek:0

Welcome kiplingmonkey - a spreadsheet sounds very efficient. Now get pampering! Look forward to hearing about your use-ups and whether you'd buy them again (WIBA, Would I Buy Again). Its amazing how many of mine I wouldn't.... QVC, Boots and Body Shop are the nemesis of us guys on here.

Dove Go Fresh deodorant UU this morning. WIBA? is the same as the last one really - I got these when there was the voucher glitch and Sainsburys were paying us to take them away, I wouldn't pay the usual price for such a small can though. It's effective and smells nice enough, but for me there is plenty better VFM out there. I'll probably now go on with the roll-on I bought last weekend as I find roll-ons work well during the summer months.
Other stuff I'm using at the moment - a Clinique wash off gel cleanser is running very low and I would think will only go another couple of days at most. I have a detox shampoo which also probably has one use only in it, and both my hand and foot creams are getting low too.
Oh - while I think of it, a HHH (Hopefully Handy Hint!) for you...if you're using one of the little pots of carmex lip balm, and are struggling to get the balm out of the pot without fingernails getting covered in it, simply screw the lid on nice and tight, and pop the jar on its side in one of the door-pockets on your car on a hot day. Leave it there from one morning through to the next, by which time you should find that in the heat of the day all the balm has melted and run to one side of the jar, then re-solidified filling half the jar only, and allowing you to easily scoop a little out for use. HTH!

Very HHH (Helpful Handy Hint! lol) Essexhebridian!
Also, if your mascara is a bit dry, just put the tube in a glass of warm water. It'll be good as new!
Sorry to butt in, I'm just a lurker on this thread, but it is really inspirational, and very useful to read what people like and don't like!
I'm a sucker for reviews...In fact, I hardly ever buy anything without reading online reviews about it first! lol
I have nowhere near as much stuff as some of you guys, but could definitely do with being more savvy! I just can't help getting bored with a shampoo for example, and buying a new one before it's finished, so now I have about 15 part-used bottle on the edges of my bath...lol and don't get me started on make-up.....eeeek!!!
Well done to ALL of you for making an effort to reign in your toiletries buying! Not only is it money-saving, it's also very environmentally friendly! :T0
