    Gooood moooorning,

Juliff I love my steam mop but I saw on a thread here somewhere that it might be better to get a steam cleaner which is able to do more things. I wanted a mop and that is what I got, good-bye buckets and dirty water.I got this one http://www.amazon.co.uk/Home-tek-Light-Easy-Steam-Elite/dp/B001JQLCC4/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1293955641&sr=8-7

It is a bit flimsy in construction but works really well and I only have a small flat so it is good for me. Looking on Amazon there may be better things for you as you have a much bigger property. Whatever, it is much easier to steam mop than to use a mop and bucket.

1 January was a NSD, I spent time with friends and did a lot of sewing, tidying and cleaning. Day in the flat today so that I can go out for the day tomorrow with a clear conscience.
  • Happy New Year.

Good luck with all your new targets.

Thanks Michelle HNY to you too. Yesterday I bought 3 reels of cotton, £7.50 disgraceful prices in John Lewis but it was the only place that was open. I also bought 2.5 meters of lining for a second coat that I am making, £25 it was reduced in the sale so was a reasonable price.

Today I am sewing as I seem to have got teh bug back and later meeting a good friend for dinner, she lives in Australia and is over for Christmas, it will be lovely to see her.

Back to work tomorrow I think it will be OK when I am there but at teh minute I definitely have the Sunday evening before school feeling.

More worryingly men have arrived and are scaffolding the outside of this building...................the exterior painting is being done in January? the leaseholders are being mad with my money, I'm off to investigate.

Still feeling that I am going to sell this flat but need a plan of how to live cheaply in London without a permanent base. I am investigating being a Monday to Thursday lodger.

Enjoy dinner with your friend. I also have that Sunday evening feeling, after 2 weeks off I really don't want to go back!

Had no idea you were thinking of selling your flat - how come?

There is a website mondaytofriday.com which specialises in mid week lets, might give you an idea of costs.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrr my first two days back at work have turned out to be very spendy, lunch out on both days £38. some of that can be claimed back I need to work it out, 1 X coffee £2.10, drinks last night £15, I need to reign back for the next two weeks to get back on track. NOT GOOD.

Still onwards and upwards I am aiming for a no spend day today, wish me luck.

Hi MW I am going to look at selling my flat as I really no longer want to live there and I need to step up the paying off of my mortgage to finish work before I am 65. It may turn into nothing in a few weeks but at the moment selling feels the right thing to do. I have a great job but am really not feeling that I want to work for another ten years. Its plans and fantasy at present!

I have decided to track the money I have available for the rest of the month on here.

    Bank £252
    Saving pot £110
    Cash £22

Four weeks until pay day and all my bills etc are paid so this is just for food and entertainment, plenty there for that if I slow down the spending.
