Thanks SmiSave I'm going to carry on because it is quite shocking and today is no different. By the end of the month I will have a very clear understanding of what I already know. £7.32 on food and £10 on a taxi. Dearie, dearie me I am a woman with eight arms and they are all spending.

you can buy a whole jar of coffee for £2 or ground for £2.50

makes say 50 cups buy a flask and make a days worth what the saving?

    £2/ x 200days = £400
    flask £20 ( a nice flask) + £20 (4 bags of the best ground coffee) = £40

save £360 a year do this for the next what 6 years of your mortgage

£2160 - thats probably 3 mortgage payments right there :)

keep going! it's always hard in the beginning.

Looks like you are spending quite a lot on taxis, do you get to claim those back? or it's the trip between your home to the station?

Hi Kaych I got rid of my car as it was really an unnecessary expense in London but my reward to myself is always to get a taxi on Friday if I am carrying a case. Other than that taxis are to be claimed from work. In all truth I am not really trying that hard this month I am just going to make myself understand where my money really goes. Today I bought a small round in the pub at lunch £5.90, zips, fabric and bias binding £19,90, fruit and veg £8,98. I am taking my niece out for dinner tonight and will be paying her for doing my cleaning, she is about to go to Uni and is always broke so her doing my cleaning is of benefit to us both.
