I usually persuade my OH to eat them but if that doesn't work -
a) feed the birds
b) bake in the oven (when it is on for something else) and when dry, grate and keep in a lidded jar. Use in any recipe requiring breadcrums or use to coat fish, rissoles, etc. instead of ruskoline.
c) Baked crusts can also be given to teething babies to chew on.
d) Burn them if you have an open fire. Stale bread/rolls will burn well if added to wood or coal0 -
Cube them, fry them in hot oil, salt and put (cooled) in a screw topped jar in fridge for crutons.

Contribute to bird obsesity.
Or shove in the blender and either freeze to use as a topping for bakes etc. with cheese or for stuffing.0 -

Not too sure but its in terms of weeks rather than days, I just taste one before using them, and I can't say I've got to the point where they seem stale or off. The oil needs to be hot for the frying though, so that not too much oil soaks right in.

I'd agree with Smashing - stick them in the blender to make breadcrumbs then keep them in the freezer till you need them for a recipe. I always have a few bags of breadcrumbs in my freezer, great for loads of different recipes (toppings for bakes, coatings for fish/chicken, pasta sauces, stuffings)
I remember someone once saying to me that they never made recipes that called for breadcrumbs and I was amazed - they are the easiest thing to make and keep. Why does anyone buy them???0 -
I know seems like a strange question.
Just made a sandwich for DD and myself and all that was left were the 2 end pieces, crusts, heels or whatever you want to call them. I was going to throw them away and thought hang on what a waste.
But what can I do with them?
Any ideas?Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!0
