Then saw this yesterday which i love but can't find any reviews:
    http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/samsung-le37c530-37-full-hd-lcd-tv-05037928-pdt.html

The C530 model is exactly the same as the previous B550 model. The only difference is that the C530 now has HD freeview.

The LE37B550 generally got good reviews for price and very good picture, but the thing that let's it down (which will also affect the C530) is the very poor sound quality so unless you're deaf you'll probably find you need to hook it up to an external sound system to be completely happy with it.

Amazon are selling the C530 for £446.70 with free delivery and I can speak from experience that their customer service is absolutely fantastic and it will be on your doorstep the morning after ordering it.

Aaah decisions! well we have top up tv so the freeview is irrelevant! we can only have the 37" due to where it is placed so if a bigger one works better for some (i.e plasma) then ones out! hmm..!

Do top up TV still do CAMs for their service or do you need a separate box?

I bought a Samsun LE40650B full HD LCD in March, and my parents have had a 40" samsung full HD LCD for a couple of years now. Both sets are great, and I did some research for a month or two before I finally decided on one. I wouldn't bother with HD 'Ready' and would go for full HD. I looked at various test sites including test freeks and HDTV test as well as many others, but I also looked at end user reviews. Internet TV and DLNA/media USB at that price point was what gave it the winning edge. I had a budget, if I wanted similar quality from Sony or Pany I'd have to have paid a fair bit more. It's interesting though people saying that Sony is much better than Samsung as they both use the same panels for most of their sets. If the set is manually calibrated then I can't really see how much difference the picture engine is going to make from set to set.

If you do get a new TV you should always try and update the firmware as soon as possible as the chances are that there's been a new release since the TV was launched, it just tends to fix bugs that people may have found and sometimes adds features.

    Sorry, a Conditional Access Module.

Most modern TVs have a slot round the back that takes a plug in card reader.
You would then plug your Top up TV card into it.
Saves having a separate freeview box.
They seem to have disappeared though.

That doesnt include me. Pan, Sony and Samsung are all very good and have theor own strengths and weaknesses (that said, of the latest tvs, the Sonys appear to be out on top this time)
Also, they dont use the same panels, thye use the same factories. theyre built to whatever spec they ask. So in that respect they could be a million miles apart if they wanted to be

Weight of the TV doesn't really matter much if it's just gonna sit on a stand, and not at all if someone delivers it for you. And plasmas DO NOT use far more power than LCDs. LCDs have a light on constantly and draw roughly the same power no matter what's on screen. Plasmas use more power the brighter the picture, so the power draw is constantly changing, depending on what you're watching. It shouldn't be a significant factor in choosing a TV.
Having said all that, I'd rather have an HD tuner built into my TV, and I'd want it to be a 1080p display, not 720 or 768 or whatever. I think the plasmas you're looking at are out of date.

Id have to disagree pal. All the figures ive seen have generally put plasmas as far higher power eaters than LCDs of the same size. (And thats taking into account 'general' viewing)
