i wonder if the combined flylady wisdom can help me with a possible plumbing problem?!

Since I had a bath on saturday night the cold water pressure in the bathroom has been really low. this is in both sink and bath and also the loo is taking ages to fill. elec shower seems fine. cold water pressure in kitchen (next door to bathroom) is absolutely fine though was spluttery yest am when dh turned it on!

there is a burst water main down the road that has been spewing water for days but this started way after that and we're puzzled cos it happened after the bath and also cos the kitchen is fine..

any advice welcome, don't really want to have to phone landlord
If the kitchen is fine, then mains pressure is fine - kitchen cold water usually comes off the rising main, but bathroom often comes from the cold water tank (as does the loo). If you have a separate cold water tank, check that the ball valve isn't jamming (mine sometimes just gets a bit of grit or dirt in it) as this can stop it filling properly.

Really need to do some work, but don't seem to be able to see quite straight when sitting/standing. Not sure I can work lying down :(

    Morning all

It's been raining since before I got up this morning and it's still raining, thoukgh it seems to be getting lighter. So, I haven't done any washing today, the forecast for the rest of the week is good so why have stuff hanging round the house when I can dry it outside another day?

    I've done today's list, complete.

Also done some shredding of receipts after checking they've gone through the bank correctly and chucked out junk mail that DH put in the drawer "for later" - went out of date in March so I reckon it's late enough.

Hope you feel better soon Greenbee, I work with somebody who suffers from it occasionally and it sounds horrid.

Still coughing and blowing here but I had a slightly better night last night. Only up about 20 times instead of 50........

That sounds worrying. Have you phoned someone - NHS direct or GP? Hope you feel better soon.

Breakfast eaten (greek yogurt and honey - not like me to have a poor appetite) and paracetamol taken. Towels dried, folded and put away; next load of towels drying and WM on again. QHC done in the kitchen - rubbish out, one worktop and top of dryer clean and tidy. I've just had a break with a cup of water. Will be off again in a moment. I hadn't realised it is almost lunch time.

Little and often is definitely the way to go! Low Bp is normal in pregnancy too and better for you and the baby so one less thing to worry about!

    Half hour done

Dug spare coffee table out from under the stairs to put in living room
Moved storage unit from middle room to living room
Brought dehydrated plant upstairs to sit in bath for a soak
Moved furniture so could hoover underneath
    Hoovered rest of living room

Doesnt seem like much but I'm exhausted

    but need to crack on

Question - leather sofas what do you wipe them over with? Will a damp microfibre cloth be ok for now

Greenbee - could it be the start of a migraine, sounds like when mine start with the vision thing
Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!

I have a special kit of leather wipes - but I blagged them when I ordered my sofa...so when they're gone it will be MUCH more moneysaving mehtod I used. They were free:D:D:money:

I have heard baby wipes recommended but I haven't tried them.

Rach like Greenbee says once you've established pressure's OK check the tank.
If the pressure different (ie better) first thing in a morning or when water's not been used for a good while. This would be indicative of a tank filling problem - either dodgy ballcock (that'll kill DD she thought stopcock was hysterically funny) or a blockage...
(I was going for the options in the least stressful/messing about order)

Also have you asked your neighbours if their water is OK?

Can't remember if you're in a block or not - have a feeling that you aren't - vague memory of you living above a shop rings a bell...

I have ironed yesterdays washing HSiron.gifand been shouted at by DS who is laptop-less and there CANNOT revise AT ALL shrug.gif
not my fault he ignored thisHSvirus.gifand his lappy got sick...

Haven't bothered to phone anyone as my brother (GP) and dad (retired GP) will tell me to stop worrying. I CBA to drag myself out for a prescription and I've run out of the stuff I need. If I go to my GP she'll probably ignore me for a week then decide I need an injection.

Thought about that, but mine usually don't start this way, and it's not real visual disturbance, just more like I'm lopsided... I threw out all the pills because they were out of date and I haven't had the problem for ages :o I do get it occasionally, generally stress-related or after long-haul flights. I'm drinking plenty of water though, in case it is migraine

I'm actually managing to get some work done now too... hopefully that's a good sign!

Another QHC done - the stairs and small spaces at the top and bottom are now clutter-free and hoovered. I'm not exactly working at top speed, but even small progress is progress, I suppose. I'm hoping that a cup of water during each break will help, too. 15 minutes in the front room next, I think, before I need to think about lunch.
