Not that I disrespect you, but sounds like you have some "attitude" as well.
And you evidence is that mandi expressed an opinion that some police have 'attitude'? Pot, kettle, black?

  • CPO? Crime Prevention Officer or Child Protection Officer? One presumably for intentional spraying without making payment or stealing of a can of deodorant, the other presumably for breathing the stuff in a bag and getting off your head (if not killing yourself).

Either way, jumped up nobody seems disproportional, as the lad concerned had done something wrong for them to have his name and address in the first place.

But then again, some people on both sides can be lacking in social skills.

Hope the poster impressed upon her son the amount of trouble he would be in if he caused another visit from either official.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

I'd have given the policeman hell !!

My dad has been ill of late, and I think I was just so relieved that it was not dreadful news ( as I assumed it would be at that time) I think I was in shock!!

So, lots of promises that he would "sort it" on Sunday (I was away for the Bank Holiday)

I texted yesterday pm to ask what the police said............and he had apparently called the local police to explain the situ, and he is getting it moved.

Just driven past and seen it is covered with police tape now.

He has not been in trouble with the police before, but I agree with people who think it is a bit excessive! :o

You're entitled to make an official complaint as you had already given them his new contact details. That means the police have been harrassing you because they couldn't be bothered to keep thier own affairs in order. That still applies whether it was about an abandoned car or an armed robbery.

So if you feel the need to get some vengance the official police complaints procedure has pretty much got to be listed on the website of your local force (eg. Thames Valley Police or Devon and Cornwall Constabulary etc). If you're stuck for thier proper name a web search for your county and the word police should give you an instant like to thier site.

Thanks. I think I am just going to give them the benefit of doubt now I have had a few days to chill about it, mistakes happen, so I don't blame them for coming round a second time by mistake, it's just the time  :D:D

Just to give you a laugh, several years ago I was woken by what I thought were 3 drunks coming home at 3am (our street is a bit of a run through from the town centre), they decided to stand just down from our house talking just loud enough to be a nuisance but couldn't make out what they were actually saying. Anyway I was annoyed at being woken up yet again by the ignorant idiots for the umph week running so opened the bedroom window and asked them if they could kindly try to keep their noise down as some people did like to try and sleep at night. The reply I got was "madam, we are just trying to do our job and arrest this gentleman who was breaking into your neighbours garden" I hadn't bothered putting my glasses on and am as blind as a bat without them so couldn't see they were coppers.

The best bit was the neighbour was one of those volunteer coppers, he got a right ribbing when he next went into work about the Rottweiler who lived next door. I felt so embarrassed but would never admit that to him, I just said well they should have been more respectful of the people who live around here. My OH still dines out on that story even now.

The main point is that punding on your door regards an abandoned car even after you have explained your ex does not live there previously is totally out of order, I would make a formal complaint, at least this would ensure it does not happen again and teach those concerned to treat people with respect.
