The guy that did my surgeries said there was nothing else he could do.
But isn't this the guy who disfigured you in the first place - why would you take his word for it?
Ive found someone who is willing to try to help me but the NHS won't fund it as it's out of County.
I had all my reconstructive surgery done at St Thomas Hospital in London, when I was living in Shrewsbury.
Ive been told that my right breast will never look normal & i'll always be disfigured.
I don't care I just want something breast shaped the same kind of size as the left one that they managed to not bodge up.
I just want to be able to wear a swimming suit, summer clothes & to be able to bend down to get my shopping out of my trolley in Tesco's without everyone being able to see i've got no breast.
Is that really too much to ask for?
Don't you have mastectomy bras and swimming costumes to hold your prosthesis? I know it's a drag but it's better than nothing.0 -

So Poet saying her students not thinking they were disable & you saying that they had learned to make money out of it like you think I have isn't about me.
Yeah right.
As I said before, it really isn't all about you - you are not the centre of the universe.0 -

I don't have a prothesis.
I buy the self sticking bra things from La Senza but can't wear a swimming suit without a t-shirt as when I move my arms my muscles in my chest contract & make my chest hollow & people will be able to see it.I'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done.

No I don't. It was a genuine question, two in fact.0 -
True, but some consistency would be appreciated.
Numerous threads have been locked as being off topic, when in fact they have remained on topic but posters have expressed their views in a way that moderators have not liked. However, this thread goes so far off topic that the majority of the posts have no bearing on the original question, which makes it totally useless to the OP, and nothing happens.
Probably because what usually happens in these kinds of thread is that it goes off at a tangent then comes full circle and gets back OT. So, the mods don't interfere.0 -

Sure, then why the sarky 'flash the cash' comment?
Seriously, word it as you like. If she has aspergers, then she has social problems, and people on social networking sites effectively telling her off, or more like, deriding her for their own amusement in an attempt to look clever, is more telling about those doing the deriding than anything else.
I appreicate you can't see that she views her life less optimistically than you think you would in her situation. But that doesn't mean the way you see it, is as it should be (if that makes sense:)).All over the place, from the popular culture to the propaganda system, there is constant pressure to make people feel that they are helpless, that the only role they can have is to ratify decisions and to consume.0 -

You can say it isn't about me but who else would you be reffering to.
I don't want to be the centre of attention, I want people to leave me alone.
You lot think I want you to feel sorry for me, how is that gonna help me?
It isn't is it?
I just want a bit of understanding, looks like I came to the wrong place.I'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done.

As a matter of interest - why not? They're very good these days and feel very natural.0 -

What happened to you is horrific - of course it is - but it can be hidden and you are going to be compensated well.
Despite your protesations that you can't manage in social situations, you have managed to find a new Partner who has in turn become your carer. You're alive, you have kids and a man supporting you and instead of embracing your life after beating a horrible disease twice, you are (apparantly) letting life pass you by.
Have a look at the wider picture here.
Thanks for that.
Your so right but the last 3 1/2 years of my life have been taken over by all this & there is hopefully only a few months left.
I just want it to be over so I can get on with my life.I'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done.

Don't be disheartened, the world is a big place. Fortunately it isn't filled will people who demand you think as they do, or see it as they do. There will always be self-righteous folk on the internet (in fact anywhere). Everyone deals with their experiences in different ways.
