Some people choose not to brandish their troubles all over the boards but that doesn't mean they've not had them!

There is no need at all for remarks like that!

Well ive just about had enough of all of you.

I thought this site was about helping people not putting people down.

There are a few nice people on here but the majority have to pick everything apart & try to make out your a liar, well i'm not a liar.

None of you know me or have gone through what ive been through so how can you judge me, I am a human being just the same as all of you.

Ive had to brandish my troubles to defend myself.

I suppose it's perfectly ok for people to say nasty stuff to me but if I say something then it's out of order.

You can say what you want cos I don't care anymore.
I'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done.

As this thread has gone completely off topic (it is supposed to be about benefits for students during the summer holiday), perhaps it's time to lock it (let's face it, moderators are quick enough to close threads when they think we are 'not being kind to users'.

There is no obligation to post on a thread if you think it has gone OTT.

The NHS won't pay for me to have any more surgeries as they don't deem reconstruction as life threatening but cosmetic.

Sorry, I thought you said that the nature of the surgery you had made breast reconstruction impossible - in fact I know you did!

Breast reconstruction is certainly available on the NHS, as you know I've had it myself (plus the additional surgery needed afterwards). I would've thought that they'd be bending over backwards for you to have it if you've had an unnecessary mastectomy and because it's affected your mental health so badly. I was offered it as a routine procedure.

I'm not bothered about the scars, they cut off my normal breast when they weren't supposed took away all of the tissue & fat so that it can't be rebuilt.
Ive suffered from depression since 1998 & started claiming IB in 2006 after I was told my cancer had come back but before I had my op.

My depression got alot worse after my 5th/last surgery in 2008 when they told me that my I didn't have enough fat/tissue/skin to reconstruct my right breast (the one that didn't have cancer).

If I win my court case against the hospital that has mutilated me (not my words but the medical expects that have examined me) i will have over £100,000 which i will use to pay for corrective surgery

Sorry but I'm awfy confused...can it be reconstructed or not? And what happens if you get the money but they still say no to reconstructive surgery (even with you flashing the cash)?

Do you not think i'd rather be normal & be able to function like a proper adult then receive £267 a month for being ill?

Yes I know you had cancer & you didn't get depressed, you are obviously a lot more wonderful then me

I found out I had cancer & asperger's in the same year that my husband left me as well as the hospital removing my lympth nodes & healthy breast by accident, did you.

You really can't compare our situations then can you.

You really are a cold hearted b$tch.

It really isn't all about you - my comment was made in answer to Poet's post.

True, but some consistency would be appreciated.

Numerous threads have been locked as being off topic, when in fact they have remained on topic but posters have expressed their views in a way that moderators have not liked. However, this thread goes so far off topic that the majority of the posts have no bearing on the original question, which makes it totally useless to the OP, and nothing happens.

It couldn't be reconstructed in the 5 surgeries I had as the guy took too much tissue, fat & skin away, my breast actually goes in.

The guy that did my surgeries said there was nothing else he could do.

Ive found someone who is willing to try to help me but the NHS won't fund it as it's out of County.

Ive been told that my right breast will never look normal & i'll always be disfigured.

I don't care I just want something breast shaped the same kind of size as the left one that they managed to not bodge up.

I just want to be able to wear a swimming suit, summer clothes & to be able to bend down to get my shopping out of my trolley in Tesco's without everyone being able to see i've got no breast.

Is that really too much to ask for?

So Poet saying her students not thinking they were disable & you saying that they had learned to make money out of it like you think I have isn't about me.

    Yeah right.

Assuming she is truthful (we can do no more than assume, when it comes to ANY poster), then do you not think your words are a bit heartless?

Regardless of anything else, if she has lost a breast to cancer, had healthy tissue removed, and suffers from Aspergers, is it really too much to hope for a bit of understanding as to her condition? Rather than attempting to rile her further and encourage her to give up more personal details than is (already) necessary for no other reason than some folks entertainment.
All over the place, from the popular culture to the propaganda system, there is constant pressure to make people feel that they are helpless, that the only role they can have is to ratify decisions and to consume.
