Why would you agree to such nonsense? 10yrs? Sod that!

maybe now is the time to consider dealing with it before you sign your life away - 10 years? My god!! You'd be better going BR surely? And I never suggest that to anybody but why pay for 10+ years?

so its up to you but I know one thing, i'd tell CCCS to go and swim with sharks if they hit me with such nonsense!!!

Way to bring down her happy mood! I know the no-nonsense is necessary on this board but sometimes it's pretty harsh!

Not at all - i'm saying why would someone agree to 10yr DMP when there is no need? i.e. what makes one person happy may not be the actual best course of action....

I'm not here to be nice, i'm here to relay facts and offer advice. Being nice doesn't get things done!

Obv this thread is not the place for me so i'll unsubscribe.

Best of luck OP. When you get sick of your silly agreement with CCCS let us know on the DFW boards and we'll be able to sort it for you. :o

I know I was more making a statement than having a go, maybe worded badly, I just meant some of the comments in DFW can sound very harsh, but if it's what's needed to snap people out of something then so be it.

I do agree with to a point mate,10 years is a long time for a DMP, but in a short while 4 years will be knocked off that(once CT is upto date) ,
A few extra pounds a month in the future can make a big diffierence to the DFD date,
or few pounds a month in savings account to make F&Fs,
these extra £s can be made using cashback sites anda few other things ;)(legal)
my guess is under 5 years:cool:

Ms Kiten have you had a look at the snowball calc?

Look at you lot! All trying to help me! Thank you so much!

I know 10 years on a DMP seems a long time but its not that bad when you think that in 3 months my payments will increase by 40% and term reduced to just over six years.

I cant do the BR thing because we have a local paper that all my friends and family read and my name in that would make me cringe :(

Never-in-doubt i have resent that email again lol. If we can sort that it would take 6k off my debt! :)

Numpty not had a look at that calc is it a good one? Will give it a try now! :) x

    Hi,
When you get a bit of time, have a look through some of the threads on the Old Style board......the stuff they know on there about shaving bits of money off this & that....well, I have always known how to cook, make & mend clothes, etc (just chose not to do it for a very long time & spent lots of money instead!) but I've still learned so much from some of the folk on there. Ideas for cutting heating bills (my monthly payments for gas & elec have been reduced AND they had to give me a nice fat refund!), for meal planning, stretching out meals, making imaginative presents for Christmas, what to do with leftovers, you name it, someone on that board will know it! Ten years seems like a long time but it will still mean you sorting out your debt problem by an age where I hadn't even started having my lightbulb moment, so you go for it. What a positive start, and good luck!

Just read your thread - well done on starting things off - just a couple of things...

I hope the money mess is what is 'big, fat and ugly' and your not calling yourself that - I don't believe you are!!!

It sounds like sorting it out is definitely do-able. Do try some of the 'up your income' like ebay (people often but anything!), competitions, surveys etc. Car boots are good too (stops me going out on the Sat as well!!)

Use your freezer - get in the bargain bin at the supermarket and freeze the cheap bits - go on the old style board for some ideas.

Also I know it is none of my business but I hope the arrangement at home is fair so that if you buy the food your OH buys other stuff cos your food bill is quite high.

ANyway good luck and soooo glad things are already better!!
