I sometimes think the same thing. I felt guilty about sending off the complaint for a PPI claim, I know I signed the form and I know I just want some money back! They've agreed to pay without argument though so I feel better.Trev. Having an out-of-money experience!
C'MON! Let's get this debt sorted!!0 -
You're fine with bankruptcy? Why?
I was made bankrupt and didn't pay a penny back, how is that any better than what the OP is doing? At least she is trying to repay some of the debt, and the unenforcability, well, I think the banks etc deserve all they get for taking so much and giving very little back.9/70lbs to lose0 -
Not everyone is trying to get debts written off, but when people need help for genuine reasons they dont seem to want to help ...I AM A MONEY MAGNET, THEY ARE MAKING MORE MONEY FOR ME AS WE SPEAK:pMIKES MOB, DFW NERD 1071, DFW LHS 132!MIRACLES HAPPEN I'VE SEEN IT WITH MY OWN EYES. They lent you the money in good faith so I believe you should repay the money in good faith and not look for every little get out clause. O.K they've probably had their interest off you and they would look for every little detail to wriggle out of things but it just doesn't sit easy with me.

Anyway - I'll stop hijacking your thread now Gemma - think you've had my point on enforceability.
Good Luck on your debt free journey.

Hi,
I agree, it is a cop out. At the end of the day i need to be a little selfish here and its not fair on Welcome Finance i agree. Im only asking Never-indoubt for advice as the CCA is completley blank. Just my & their sigs and a date. If there is a legal loophole that helps me get debt free in less than 10 years and i can get out of it I will and i know that makes me a bad person. Im sorry if you think bad of me.

first of all, well done on facing it head on. i found myself 7.5k in debt 4 years ago and managed to get it down to 2k at the mo, once your arrears are paid then you will have spare cash from water arrears, thats how i tackled it, just when the extra came up, paid that off something else. its a long road but you will get there if you stick at itBeen away but now i am back!0

I think that financial institutions have to take some responsibility - so many people have been given loans, credit cards etc that they clearly would struggle to repay, the banks are really only missing out because of their willingness to take a gamble. I know that I was given much more credit than I ever should have been, and that I could ever properly pay back. I don't think it's a cop out on the part of the individual, I just think it's a terrible shame that people have been able to get into such debt in the first place.Say what you mean.. mean what you say... without being mean.0

everything is fair on Welcome Finance.... they have used dirty tactics with me. they force ppl to have PPI when its not needed.
do what you need to, its your life and if it saves you stress then do it i say. ppl might not agree with me but look after number one:)Been away but now i am back!0 -
