Hi Eleanor, Thanks for your advice. I wasnt calling myself fat & ugly i was trying to describe my debt as a monster hiding under my bed. Is there anyway i could change the title as i dont want to offend anyone! Someone else reccomended the old style boards but i dont know how to find them! I know what you mean about the house situation and i agree it feels a little one sided at times. It works for us for now. I would like to see him pull his weight more but i guess i have always taken the provider role.
Looking back on it trying to be the hero/provider/doing well in other peoples eyes got me here. Maybe i do need to revisit it!x

I was in a very similar situ. Problem is I realised I was getting in more financial trouble than him and that wasn't fair....It's sorted now but maybe something to think about when things stabilise a bit more.

With regards to getting debts written off like that - ie because of legal issues or because of the small print -I think it's a bit of a cop out. They lent you the money in good faith so I believe you should repay the money in good faith and not look for every little get out clause. O.K they've probably had their interest off you and they would look for every little detail to wriggle out of things but it just doesn't sit easy with me.
Now bankruptcys, dmp's etc I'm fine with as people are trying to pay back what they owe and not run away. Maybe if enforceability was used as a defence to get the creditors to accept a sensible repayment or to stop them getting a ccj etc then I would understand but I get the feeling that people just want to get out of it all the easy way.
Anyway - I'll stop hijacking your thread now Gemma - think you've had my point on enforceability.
Good Luck on your debt free journey.
