    Hi everyone

Wow!! What a thread!! I feel that I have achieved something just by reading all of it :D.

I would love to join please Dragon (hope you are feeling better soon by the way xx).

I have done Elantan's 1st and 2nd homework in one. Sorry it is so long, don't feel you have to read all my rambling!

Health = 5 - My health is not the best nor the worst. I have Cystic Fibrosis which was diagnosed at birth (I am now 29). There are a lot of people who are worse off than me health-wise so I do count myself lucky sometimes. I have rated it as 5 because there are things I can do to improve it.

I want it to be an 8 – The things that are stopping me from doing this now are laziness and money. To get up to an 8, I need to:
    · Get my weight up to 9 stone – this will help me to fight infections and build up a ‘reserve’ for when I am ill (I currently weight just over 8 stone).
    · Do more exercise to improve my lung function. I am not a physical person so hate exercise. I won’t do anything in public really as I need to take frequent breaks and having coughing fits gets embarrassing. Therefore, I think a Wii fit would be the best (and more fun) way to do this (hence the lack of money stopping me).
    · Keep to a strict regime with my medication and treatments. This is laziness stopping me. I would say I do 90% of my meds & treatments, but it needs to be 100%.

Finances = 3. I admit it, I am so bad with money. I am just over £30k in debt which I have built up over the past 10 years. I have nothing to show for it expect a load of DCA letters. I am so bad at budgeting and really need to get a grip on my finances. I never seem to have any money and I am getting extremely fed up with my whole situation.

I want it to be a 7 – The thing that is stopping me doing this is not prioritising where my money should go (ie no budget) and sticking my head in the sand. To get to an 8, I need to:
    · Work out how much I need to make a month to pay my bills, rent, debts and buy food etc and stick to my budget.
    · Make a bit over that so that I can save to make F&Fs on my debts.
    · Live more frugally and stop wasting money
    · Try to eat more cheaply by cooking from scratch and freezing meals.

Looks = 5. I am not hideous but then I am not stunning either. Just average. I am kind of happy with my body (apart from being majorly flat chested, but there is NOTHING I can do about that - not even surgery as I have CF!) so it is mainly my teeth (awful but fixable) and my skin (very dry and I still get spots).

I want it to be a 7 – Fear, money and laziness is stopping me from doing this. To get to a 7, I need to:
    · Work out a skincare regime and actually stick to it (I have loads of lotions, potions and face masks but just don’t use them out of laziness).
    · Get over my irrational fear and get to the dentist to fix my teeth (easier said than done. I need some serious help to sort this one out! Also a lack of funds is also an issue here).

Home = 9. I love, love, love my flat!! It is my little piece of heaven. I only rent it but it is gorgeous and I adore it.

I want it to be a 10 – Lack of money is stopping me. The only way I can improve on the perfection of my flat is to have some more pictures and decoration in the place.

Work = 5. I recently left my part-time (30 hours) job to become self-employed mainly because it benefited my health and I was getting so fed up with my boring office job. It was really getting me down. It has not gone quite to plan as I have been struggling a bit with being disciplined enough to get the money coming in. I mainly do research on 63336 but mix it up with some other bits when I can.

I want this to be an 8 – The main thing that is stopping me is indecision, fear of trying new things and procrastination. To get to an 8, I need to:
    · Look into different ways to make the money I need to live on and pay my debts. I find just doing one thing boring and would like to vary things so I am not just answering questions all day.
    · Build up a ‘mystery shopping pot’ as I often find jobs, but can’t do them as they involve paying out for something first and I never have any spare cash to do this and therefore miss out on work.
    · Work out what it is I really want to do. I would love to do something I actually enjoy, even if only for a part of the time. I don’t mind doing the researching and mystery shopping, but it can get tedious and I would love to break it up a bit with something I love that also makes me money.

Family = 7. I have a close relationship with my family but sometimes feel a bit controlled by them. My dad died 4.5 years ago and I feel that my mum puts on me a lot more now (feel guilty just saying that) and her and my sister haven’t been getting on as well since my dad died so I am sometimes stuck in the middle. However, I get on great with my little niece (3 years old) who is the love of my life. I love her like she were my own daughter.

I want this to be a 9 – Guilt is stopping me from doing this. I can’t say no to my mum and need to sometimes to put myself first. I don’t begrudge doing anything for her, but sometimes it stops me doing what I want to do but I feel guilty if I say no. I also need to stop listening about my sister’s and mum’s problems with each other and encourage them to talk it through together.

Relationship = 4. I have been with my OH for nearly 10 years. I do love him, don’t get me wrong. He is just so childish about 80% of the time. He is nearly 35 years old and just acts like he is still in his teens. I have told him he needs to grow up several times and he agrees – just never acts on it. Also, my family don’t like him and think that we split a couple of years ago. They now know he is back on the scene, but not to the extent of being my OH again.

I want this to be an 8 – Fear of disapproval from my family and general annoyance at his attitude are in my way on this one. To get to an 8, I need to:
    · Give him an ultimatum to either grow up or get out (harsh but you know what I mean!)
    · If he does change, tell my family I am with him and they will have to like it or lump it.

Friends = 4. I have one really good friend but am really bad at keeping in touch with my other friends.

I want this to be a 7. Laziness is stopping me. I am quite good in my own company and sometimes enjoy the solitude, but friends are important so to get to 7, I need to stay in touch with them more often.

God, that was long!! Thanks to Dragon for starting this thread and for everyone else contributing - I think it really is great and can't wait to be a part of it :j.

Off to work on homework 3 and 4.

    Emily xx

    Hi Elantan.

I did a life wheel thing a little while back and I am always thinking of ways I need to improve my life, just never get round to doing them. This will obviously all change!! Other homework won't come as easily!

    xx

I see your saying laziness alot ... Can I suggest it isn't laziness ( I know you and know you are anything but lazy) but I can understand procastination ... I suffer from that too ( maybe I am projecting here though )
